I have tested and it works, you need to put the folder "doa5_tool" where all .bin and .lnk are.

I still don't have a file structure representing that, what might I be missing? I got the data from the 360 and converted to an XISO what am I supposed to do from there to allow browsing in a normal file format so I know where to put the doa5_tool files?

Okay, so I've transferred the DLC files for DOA5 over to a flash drive, and dumped the contents of the drive onto my computer with USBXTAF, but I still have no idea on how to actually extract the costumes and stuff out of these files. Am I missing something important? The BMS script doesn't seem to pick up on anything.

Use Horizon and open the DLC on your USB

Then extract the content to a Folder ( e.g. DOA 5 DLC )

then copy doa5_tool folder to DOA 5 DLC folder

and then run doa5

that all ^_^

Great! Thank that's what I needed and it worked. :) Would I be using this same process on the main game? I already installed it on a 32GB USB, but Horizon isn't recognizing it. I'm not sure if it's the USB drive I have or not, because Horizon is not recognizing anything on it, but it is the smaller one that I have.

Edit: Okay, got the main game to work through Horizon, but could only extract as a main file. Still feels like I'm missing a step.

Also, now that the tmc/l files are extracted is there anything useful I can do with those yet, or is that still a work in progress?

So I think this one will work.

mmmm....

I don't know about this method

If you have the DVD of the game, then insert it in the DVD driver of your PC
then open Xbox backup creator -> image tool -> image browser and extract everything ... that is the method I use

Unless you have a dvd driver compatible with xbox360 with flashed firmware you can't do that.

For protocol, you have to extract your files from your dvd. The easiest method is installing the game in a pen drive, then get the character_common.bin and character_common.lnk and then run zyahko's tool or you can do that with chrrox's bms scripts but it's gonna be too confusing for you if don't even know how to use a command line program.

Me again! Got everything from the DLC packs extracted so far, I just need to know where the Noesis script for the model files is. Is it the one in the first post or have there been updates so far that I haven't seen?

Sorry to clog the thread with something mildly unrelated....

I finally got Xbox Backup creator installed / working, and it isn't reading anything that I have in the drive, or at least is only showing 50MB (it is a retail copy if that matters >_> I've seen that not be helpful before. ) Any suggestions or places to look for tips?

I've tried browsing ISO files as well for the heck of it which did nothing.

Only certain models of DVD drives can rip 360 games directly, and even then, only with custom firmware. Your best bet is to get a flash drive (16 GB should be fine), install the game to it using your 360, then using something like Horizon to rip the files off of the flash drive.

Thanks, that was the original plan which I have done. When Horizon extracts it though I'm only get a 'string' folder name full of DataXXXX files. I've tried adding the doa5_tool folder to this and/or the parent folder, but when I run it to extract files its saying file not found. At least with the DLC I can tell it is in more of an 'apparent' file structure. Also Horizon isn't giving me a 'Contents' tab like it did with the DLC, thoughts?
