extras always work?

I was searching for computer components, and found something about using a usb flash drive as extra ram (virtual)? One just laying around nonetheless? Anyone tried this before? If so, what were the results?

Never tried it myself, if you want the performance (and have the money) I would use a SSD.

If you would like better performance without using an external flashdrive:
