I just tried and it worked for me. Try setting the sample rate to 48hz, on the script as well.

Is there any progress on the .drm format?

I'm trying to get the original (higher res?) images for this billboard and the LIMB one, for making wallpapers.

For you guys who have been working with the formats.. is it your feeling that it will eventually be possible to extract these images? I'm not sure if the Crystal engine uses some ridiculous proprietary texture format along with their ridiculous proprietary BIGFILE and .drm formats. (: Also I'm not sure if those are static images with the glowy effects being shaders, or if they're prerendered video.

Hi guys, I'm going to sound a lot noob here. But I'm really struggling with this one and this seems to be the only source on the internet that has any idea what to do.
I've read through this whole thread; and whilst there were pointers that helped me get places, I simply do not understand enough about what I am doing.

My goal is fairly simple:
I want to extract the pre-rendered video files from the game. In any format that I can work with.
I don't care about audio at all.

I have purchased the steam version and my mate has the PS3 version. I've extracted video before from games and converted using radgametools but only with programs people have made already.
And they're usually a lot easier than this. For starters, I don't even really know what I'm looking for.
The .cpks, seems to be the most likely candidate. And using VGMTOOLBOX I was able to extract a .adx file. But as far as I could tell that was just audio static. Unless I am mistaken.

My preference would be to somehow extract the videos from the PS3 version. But I don't even know how to start there, I'm sure I have all the necessary hardware.
If the PS3 idea is unrealistic, then I'm happy to go back to the steam version. As I'd only prefer the PS3 for it's better quality.
All this code is the problem, I don't know what I'm even reading or looking for and I have no experience at all.

However I get the feeling that surplus to what some of you are trying to do, something like this might seem (dare i say) easy.

If anyone could help me out, or point me in the right direction that would be amazing. Thanks.

I wrote a tool to demux .mul files, it's available on my repository as Gibbed.DeusEx3.Demux.

Supports both PC and PS3 .mul files. X360 is totally untested.

I've hardcoded a list of valid sample rates which may be incomplete so it will crash if it gets something unexpected.

Also: for fsb_mpeg, the correct padding value seems to be 24 (at least for music FSBs).

ie,

Code: Select all

fsb_mpeg.exe dx1theme2000_0.fsb -p 24

*.cpk should be *.usm (I incorrectly labeled that file type). They can be "converted" with VGMToolbox (VGMToolbox → Misc. Tools → Stream Tools → Video Demultiplexer, change format to USM (CRI Movie 2)).

I forgot to commit the new externals, I just fixed that. Update and try again. :)

Hi Rick,

File names seems uncorrect. Is there a way to correct them? Or is it normal? Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I wanna know if there's a way to increase font size of the in-game subtitles,
cause the original game font size is a little small to me. In Mafia 2 game some guys
got it. Maybe there's a way to do the same in Deus Ex HR by editing some xml or
another file inside the .bigs.

Any idea?

Herdell: Look back, I've posted where are fonts located. The format (at least for me) is a mystery.

I know about the fonts, and is *.dds files (Direct Draw)

I wanna know if there's a way to increase the size of displaying text in-game.
