Another interesting bit:
In offline play, if you are unhappy that it always begins at the same time, consider this trick. It will relieve part of the annoyance by allowing you to experience a full day/night cycle in a much shorter period of real time. The effect is a little like time-lapse photography, especially if you use a very short period like a five-minute day. It greatly facilitates taking multiple screen captures in the right place and at the right time.
Edit your decrypted GamePC.cpr file and add a line for FORCED_OFFLINE_DAYLENGTH from the examples below. (I added them between the weather and the [Flash] section.)

Multiple GamePC.cpr files i.e., GamePC5.cpr, GamePC10.cpr, GamePC30.cpr, etc., and multiple batch files that rename them at startup, enable short game sessions by choice. Works for me.

Yes, this works fine, I tried that 2 days ago. If you put there 300 or less, it goes nuts, the sun and shadows are moving super fast, not to mention clouds hahaha!
But it's just the speed of time... if anyone could figure out how to change (offline) start time (Oahu: 8 am, Ibiza: 2 pm), well that would be cool. I haven't found it yet.

That actually looks pretty good. Gonna try it right now.Update:
I copied game_weathers.xmb
from
TDU2\Euro\Bnk\islands\ibiza\fx\
to
TDU2\Euro\Bnk\islands\hawai\fx\
and the result is fantastic! Honolulu is actually beautiful, especially around 6-7 pm. No blueish fog anymore. Only mountains and very distant objects are a little blueish like in real life. Feels like summer.
Unfortunately, the contents of game_weathers.xmb is encrypted or something. There are some understandable words, but the rest is unreadable crap.
Sky color comes from that file.

Been trying to mess with the shadows (you can see the shadows fade in and out and it's really irritating). There's a mod that fixes this but it also decreases shadow quality, and the decreased shadow quality makes it look like GTA4 on medium shadows, literally. I got it to what I want right now, but shadows still look pretty crap so I'm gonna mess with it some more.

However, I'm afraid that HQ shadows (if fading at longer distance) will decrease performance.
I tried to add more grass, but then I lost quite a few fps. I don't understand how does TDU1 have so much more grass compared to TDU2 and still perform very very good...

modified shadows doesn't decrease that much in performance, well at least on mine it doesn't. However I'm using medium settings(for env quality) everything else is on very high, 1920x1080 4xaa. If I put environment quality to very high all hell breaks loose.
Must be that grass you're talking about.

I really enjoy driving in Oahu now.
How did you manage to open these in-game photos? I can't open any of those jpg files, they're encrypted. The only way I'm able to make screenshots is with using fraps.
I can't use AA, I have HD4850 and I'm playing @ 1920x1200, 30-40fps with "high" env. setting, and 20-30fps with "very high". AA works well in TDU1, but I get only 20 fps max in TDU2 with 2xAA (4xAA = 3-5 fps!!!)
When it's rainy I got 40-50 fps with "very high" settings, although rain particles should slow it down... It's strange.
It must be those shadows, I didn't notice them on a "rainy day". But it's just a guess.

I just need a working editor for tdu2 that allows me to extract any textures and import new textures back to game.......

Weird, because I have a 4850, along with a e7300 @ 3ghz, 2gb of ram and I can run it at 1920x1080, 4xaa, everything else on very high aside from env, which is on medium.
I could put it on high but eh stutters a bit sometimes, on very high it just goes to around 5 fps.
I wasn't able to open the photos, screened them with fraps then resized them to a smaller size because of how crappy my internet is(I upload more than 1.5 mb it just sh*ts itself.)
It's possible to change textures using texmod, you can try it.

Can some1 just PM me & pack all the TDU 2 cars as dae/obj/zd3 ?

I tried to desaturate those trees, I don't know if anybody can see a difference or not.
I also added slight blur to clouds and added more fine detail to asphalt. (Blue fog still removed.)

I haven't figured out how to change ground color. For example, see that mountain on the 1st pic, it's too yellow and light. It must be a bit greener and darker (as many other mountains in the game). Ground texture was quite green already, so I have no clue... I also noticed some red and pink+blue textures, but I'm not familiar with that format. The original (blueish) atmosphere made distant textures look more greenish, but it also made game look worse in general, especially in Honolulu.

First time it seemed to replace textures, but the next attempt was weird - only one or two textures were replaced. Some other textures went back to original.
Third time it did nothing at all. No changes whatsoever. I did everything as described here: http://tduforums.com/thread-2280.html

Yea, at least now I know that problem just isn't myself.
And I don't think there's a fix for it. Some of those screens do look good, reminds me of just cause 2.
ENB would be much more suited to what you're after(desaturating) using colorcorrection, unfortunately like I said a page back it doesn't seem to work with tdu2, oddly enough.
Disabling wheel blur does wonders though.
