Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
new version of ttarchext which adds:
- support for Vista and Win7
- support for the new Monkey Island released some hours ago
- the -x option so that the hex editing of the bytes at offset 0x20 and 0x24 is no longer needed, add -x and it will do the job automatically

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
Thanks for the fast update but is it just me or does ttarchext -m 26 4_MonkeyIsland102_pc_tx.ttarch TEXTURES not work properly? All textures files are still D3DTX or corrupt DDS..Bugtest wrote:new version of ttarchext which adds:

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
I have already deleted the game but I guess I have understood about what you refer.
it's probably the same thing which has been made in the latest wallace&gromit, practically all the DDS files are now headerless so the scanning functions implemented with -m is totally useless because can't find the DDS header and even if you have a DDS file it's headerless and so you need to add a header to it or to read it in raw mode.

Something wrong with unpacking textures, even without -m option, some d3dtx files have 2-3 dds headers.Bugtest wrote:I have already deleted the game but I guess I have understood about what you refer.

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
it's not a problem of extraction, that's exactly how are the original files in the archive.

Why then, for example: file ui_chapterscreen_title102.d3dtx have such header?Bugtest wrote:it's not a problem of extraction, that's exactly how are the original files in the archive.

The extraction works fine, but the tool doesnt work for Sam & Max.... Can you make a version for Sam & Max Season 2 episode 2? And for all Season 1 and 2?
Please I really need this tool

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
all the files in the 4_MonkeyIsland102_pc_tx.ttarch archive are headerless.johntus wrote:Why then, for example: file ui_chapterscreen_title102.d3dtx have such header?
only in some of them you can see some headers in the middle but this doesn't change that they are headerless dds images (if I'm not in error a dds file can contain multiple dds image but that's not my field so I don't know).
that's simple to verify because all the d3dtx file which contain dds images with header have the ERTM type, all the others are juse raw/headerless.
so I can do nothing.

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
oh I have also another hypothesis which could explain why the first file is ok and the others aren't.
Now I'm evaluating it but it's enough strange and senseless because would corrupt the whole format of the archive... I will keep you update.

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
problem found and solved in the new 0.1.7 version.
it was caused by a field introduced from the archives version 7 (the first monkey island) which specifies the size of the chunks divided by 1024.
so the bug affected ONLY the "tx" archives of the 2 games Bogeyman and Spinner Cay.
thanx for the feedback
