Yes it reads the number of files correctly but it can do nothing elce with it the file names show up as nothing and 0 bytes in size.
I think it just needs to be updated.

(Slight thread necro ;))

My new plugin platform Maki + the POP2008 plugin Elika allow you to extract/replace files in the new Prince of Persia for PC.

Crap, you're right. Guess AC is a lot more strict on its files than POP is...

Damn, you're like the first to break the .forge format, ever.. Respect. And i patiently await the sweet moment when we'll be able to extract the audio from PoP and especially Assassin's Creed. Can't wait 8D

New update now includes the basic conversion of a couple of mesh types to OBJ files. (thanks to a kick in the head from fatduck)
For the people waiting for audio, that's not my priority, so I suggest using decubisnd, which should work with both games.

My great respect and appreciation for them, who research game files! Special thanks to: aluigi, bacter, DerPlaya, Rick, Turfster, twig, Zench. Sorry if someone is missing in my list, I'll update when I'll notice it again
