i have no idea
i never tried anything yet
HZD:CE works, incl. DLC files for the most part, about two dozen files fail to extract.
Is there any reason why the executable is so heavily obfuscated? I want to make some changes to show me which objects fail but it just turns out as gibberish.
Edit: for those still having crashes on start, point it to the packed_pink folder, not the CUSA folder. It tries to load the EBOOT.bin file and crashes.
Yes, there is.
Its because one paid tool author used my research to sell and promote his paid tool.
He did it at least once, with overwatch, maybe more.
Ever since then i never publish any sources.

Was that the "3D model converter" guy in the Facepunch thread that didn't understand anything?
In any case, can you give more details whenever a "Failed to find object" error happens?

it can be because these files are not present in the game
or because patch is not supported
I am experiencing difficulty on the "Extracting characters with skeleton" step: after exporting game sources I got lot of .core files. I can extract SMD opening this .core via Horizon executable, but I can't understand what means "place all parts of a character in one folder, and run horizon on all of them". Aloy character files are scattered and it is not clear what exactly to be used. Probably it's because I'm still new to this issue.
I understand that the topic is very outdated, and probably the author put all the files in the far box, but I would be happy to see some example of exporting Aloy model. daemon1, can you? Or may be there some video with the process exists?
Also, I am unable to extract the localization voices. Does anyone have any success with this? I would love to dig further the sources of this game, if the author could share the source code of the tool.
hello, daemon1~
i drag resource of the Horizon.exe, but show "System.NullReferenceException"
.core files name:
models/eco_assets/trees/banana_tree/components/banana_tree_b001_c002_resource
models/eco_assets/trees/weeping_willow/components/weepingwillow_b001_c001_resource
Thanks for your job!

Updated tool with animation support and support for all textures export.
To extract animations:
1. Extract animation manager (with /e command)
animation managers can be found in models/animation_managers/characters/
2. Extract skeleton. You can use animation skeleton or mesh skeleton
read how to get mesh skeletons in the first post
animation skeletons are in template files:
- for robots its in entities/characters/robots/templates/archetypes/
- for animals - in entities/animals/
- for humans - entities/characters/components/humanoidragdollcomponents
(humanoidragdollcomponents has 2 skeletons with same name for male, female & child)
3. Extract animations from animation manager
drop animation manager onto the tool, this will extract all animations into "anim" folder
getting proper animation names will be supported later.
4. Convert animations. There are 2 options:
a) Horizon [animation] [animskel]
This will extract animation with skeleton in rest pose and make proper SMD file.
b) Horizon [animation] or just drop animation (.morpheme) file onto the tool
This will extract only animation. This option will allow you to merge all animations into one file. To make proper SMD, you'll have to copypaste the skeleton from animation skeleton SMD or mesh skeleton SMD to the beginning of the animation SMD file.
======================================
Notes:
- most ingame animations are morpheme, and can be extracted with this tool
- some ingame animations and all cutscenes are in decima engine anim format, and can't be converted
- some animations are additive, they cannot be extracted properly
- the only non-supported robot is scout (watcher), will be fixed soon
