It is a cmd prompt tool where you give a proper syntax for it to process what ever is you need, most questions are already answered, this is an example of what you want to achieve using the BF2042 texture tool for Unbound.
if you run the tool in cmd prompt with out any parameter it will even tell how to use it.

Dumping the game

1. Change paths in the .INI to your folders. Set parameter on the 3rd line to only dump "ebx" "res" or "chunks". If no parameter (empty line), it will dump them all.
2. Place oo2core_8_win64.dll from the game to the same folder
3. Drag any .TOC file onto toc2042.exe, and it will extract everything that was listed in that file

Converting models

bf2042_mesh.exe <meshset>
or
bf2042_mesh.exe <meshset> <skeleton>

Tool will find the needed chunk automatically in the same folder, "chunks" subfolder, or folder structure created by dumper.
If no skeleton name provided, tool will ask for default _soldierskeleton.ebx skeleton (which you can find in globals.toc)
Hey uh, pardon my stupidity, but where should I put the files? in BF2042's folder? what and where should change the paths? And like, can you give me a more detailed guide on doing this? cause I'm pretty much a beginner now heh heh :scaredy:

It does not matter where you keep the files needed for that process, it is a cmd prompt tool and you can run that how ever you want, and no matter if your new here or not, looking in the thread few pages ahead there are so many examples on how to use the tool, so much has been explained already in so many ways, all Frostbite tools here work the same regardless of the game name.
Gobyl wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 9:15 am Hey sorry tp interrupt, I have been trying to rip the texture from bf2042 from by dragging the texture files the tools but only giving "The directory is invalid" error. I am currently trying to do the solution you gave on the forum post but I am still unfortunately confused. Is it possible for you to elaborate on how to do it maybe more casually?
Honestly there's not much to say except what you se here, literally: viewtopic.php?p=182112#p182112
if you use the bundle path folder it means it will convert entire game dump, unless you don't need that whole game converted, you add the path of the folder of the model your trying to convert, that's all there is to it.
The required texture tools you place them at root of your game dump, you wont get any errors.

Thanks for the help, I have solve it. It turns out you need to drag the whole texture folder you want to compile and not individual files.

Also does PBR texture can be extracted from bf2042?

First of all, thank you to daemon1for providing these great tools!

I've been trying to use the BF2042 tools to dump a few meshes from the game. However in the bundles folders created from the various .toc files, it seems like there are whole folders missing for characters and parts missing from the character files that are there. For example I can find some (but not all) .Meshset files for about six different specialists, but nothing for the other six. It's similar for the vehicles and for the weapons. Am I not understanding something or is this just a limitation of the software? I've seen someone post screenshots of all the vehicle models a few pages back, and they seemed to be using the same tools. Thanks.

In order to gain access to ALL assets you might think your looking for, you must dump entire game, as some assets are scattered, some in levels, etc.
Somewhere somehow you messed up your extraction process, pay close attention to every step. Start from scratch if unsure.

Guys, what tool using to import (sh*t) format of models? I tried with XnaLara importer for 3ds Max but smooth looking weird and I didn't see LODs. FBX format will be much better and I hope for FrostyEditor - this is much easier, better and quickly tool - will support soon NFS Unbound.

Stay away from that importer and 3dsMax when comes about the converted assets to ASCII, you need Blender:
viewtopic.php?p=187182#p187182
And also, that BF2042 tool does NOT support normals for the new NFS Unbound game, NFS games under Frostbite engine have a different format for storing normals, while BF2042 has nothing to do with it, that's why your not getting proper exported mesh, i already stated that yet you choose to ignore it and make a entitled comment.

I don't know if I missed out on a reply to this thread (sorry in advance if I did) but did Battlefield 5 ever have a tool for extracting full bodied game models (other than id-daemon's head deformation fixer)?

Tool for face fixes has never been releases, it is private, only SMD one frame animation fixes are included in the link above, as well as the BFV tool for mesh conversion.

Hi Everyone. I've been scouring through forum after model site after forum for days and I still haven't gotten an answer to this question: How do you rip models from Battlefield 2042? I was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject.
