opening .dds files ?

Got a comment, question or silly remark that doesn't fit any of the other MultiEx fora? This is the place to post 'em.

Does anione here know how to easily open .dds files coz im stuck. I tried Slowview, but that just converts them to .bmp and then can't convert them back. :evil:

DDS files? Where are they from?

You can modify DDS files with PhotoShop using a plug made for that specific purpose.

DDS

DDS is a file format of DirectX, DirectDrawSurface or something, its mainly used by games and can contain stuff such as mipmaps and cubemaps, and stores pixels in direct draw compatible formats. The Texture Tool that ships with the DirectX SDK is probably the best tool for working with DDS-files.
