ok i'm researching this.

.36 files have a bit spiderish structure. Nothing too complex though. Expect the model/texture conversion tools soon.

I don't know. They have 2 skeletons for each model: skeleton and animation skeleton. That happens sometimes. Face animations are made with morphs. No facial bones and there are .MORH files for each character.

since daemon1 is likely going to make a complete tool i will just share the work in progress
bms script i have so far for texture data extraction so it doesn't completely go to waste. (:
this bms script extracts the texture data with names and adds headers.

i see you used a few workarounds to get the data: searching for 4-letter IDs and hashes instead of reading the data from where they must be.

But I also needed skeletons and mesh descriptions, so I parsed the whole data structure properly.
