7,62 High Calibre .ACT files

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to import and export .ACT files from the game 7,62 High Calibre. There's a few ways to do it, but I was hoping to have a script to import and export these static models in 3DS Max 2010.
The current method is using either an old version of Blender or Milkshape to import them as a .x file and export them as something generic, such as .obj. Then whenever you're ready to export them, use Blender 2.69 and a python script to export them.
The issue is, I highly prefer using 3DS Max and I was hoping for a more streamlined workflow because while this fairly long process of Blender 2.49b -> 3DS Max -> Blender 2.69 is manageable for one or two models, adding quite a few models at a time makes this extremely tedious.
I've attached a sample model and texture, along with the python script for Blender, and I was really hoping for a script to import these .ACT files and export them in Max. I don't think this is anything particularly complicated, as it's easy to import in other programs and there's already an export script here for a different program working. It's an old game with a small community, but this would be a pretty great step in making the modding process for this game much more user-friendly.
Thanks so much for reading, I'll answer any other questions that might help you guys as well of course.
