A Generic GDI+ Error?
How much memory is in your system.
I run Win7 64 bit SP1 on my system too.
I also have 8 gig of ram.
Try changing some of the settings before loading a map.
Check Low quality textures.
Uncheck high quality models.
This should lower the memory usage a lot.

The way video hardware works is like this...
If it can't fit all the graphics (display list, textures and shaders) in to its own memory, it will start swapping items to and from system memory as they are needed.
On my system with Abby loaded with best quality, Task manager is showing Terra as using 415,948k of memory. That's almost 1/2 gig.
It seems like a lot.. but Google Chrome is using around 1/10th of a gig just to load these forums.

Oddly... Terra crashed the first time I loaded Abby but ran fine the second time.
I got NO error message at all.. the window just closed.
This is the first time I have ever seen Terra do this so there probably is a bug some where.
I'll do some digging.
I'd love to change the world but I can't get my hands on the code.

I can't really get this to work. It starts, but whenever I try to load a map I get this error.

I have this error too. On windows 7, radeon 5850.
