Disabling Intro Videos
To disable the opening videos and load directly to the main menu:
1. Download MultiEx Commander from Xentax. This will allow you to extract files from the Kohan_AG.tgw file.
2. Extract the data/multimedia.ini file and place it in a new sub-folder in your KAG directory (wherever you installed it) - you may have to create a new folder yourself if it isn't already there (name it DATA).
3. Delete the following lines from multimedia.ini and save it:
[Intro]
Movie_01 = Strategy_First_Logo.bik
Movie_02 = TimeGate_Logo.bik
4. If you can't get MultiEx to work, you can download this modified multimedia.ini file. Extract this zip file into your KAG directory - it includes the Data folder.
Thanks to Durandal and Brokensword for this tip. This will work for both KIS and KAG (just use the appropriate folders).
Changing KIS/KAG Music
Originally posted by Durandal on the official boards:
1. Extract the .wav files you want (probably all of them) from music.tgw in your KIS folder using MultiEx Commander.
2. Create a folder named Music inside your KAG folder.
3. Place the files there.
4. Now, you need to make a decision on which files you want to keep. KIS has 8 "Ingame" tracks, while KAG only has 6. So listen to the .wav's and pick your two least favorite "Ingame" tracks.
5. Delete these two and rename the others to keep the numbers in the right order. For example, if you delete delete Ingame3.wav & Ingame5.wav, then you'll have:
Ingame.wav
Ingame1.wav
Ingame2.wav
Ingame4.wav
Ingame6.wav
Ingame7.wav
You'll need to rename these so that it looks like:
Ingame.wav
Ingame1.wav
Ingame2.wav
Ingame3.wav
Ingame4.wav
Ingame5.wav
6. Once you've got these, add an AG_ to the start of all of the names.
So, when all done, you should have a folder in your KAG directory named Music, which contains:
AG_Briefing.wav
AG_Credits.wav
AG_Ingame.wav
AG_Ingame1.wav
AG_Ingame2.wav
AG_Ingame3.wav
AG_Ingame4.wav
AG_Ingame5.wav
AG_LOSEBRIEFING.wav
AG_Menu.wav
AG_WINBRIEFING.wav
That should do it. Note, I also used a .wav editor to double the volume on all of them, as they seem to be quieter than normal. Or I'm going deaf. *Shrugs* - Durandal
