People have 2 common motivating factors in making useful software. Profit and ego. Open soure often removes the profit aspect and makes it all about ego, where there are very few tangible rewards outside of praise and reputation. There are certainly more effective ways to build a career or accomplish collaborative engineering goals. Many people find their own egotism very difficult to understand and/or accept, and this is the root of most dysfunction and poor decision making in the open source world. There are many martyrs convincing themselves that they're doing good for the world, many egomaniacs, and many greedy cocksuckers to take what they can however they can. Perhaps the most honest with themselves are indeed the cocksuckers.

Perhaps the cocksuckers are. At least the cocksuckers know they're cocksuckers. Unlike those wimpy source code fetishists that worship the God of Compile and offer their petty code - much like a Buddah statue that should be gifted and not bought - as Divine Creation-to-Binary-Executables Artifacts, fit only for those Worthy of the Praise of the God of Compile. And as they offer their Divine Scripts to all followers of the GoC, they forget there are those (sucking the cock) that use and abuse the GoC, and even He doesn't realize them cocksuckers trick him into aiding them in their quest to find the Endless Bag of Gold. As they release the Divine Binaries to the ignorant few, they humiliate the GoC, but foremost the wimpy source code fetishists. And that, my followers, is a Good Thing. :fu:

My dear brother, I envy the talents and the purity with which you speak the true word of The Lord.

Preach on Brother Mouse!

I just tried to use an Emoji from here: http://getemoji.com/ and this happened:

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x87 [...' for column 'post_text' at row 1 [1366]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

It worked fine when using the Preview though so that's a bit odd.

Well, anyway...
