These damned offsets being rather simple at the end:

Can you write down some pseudo code on how the file format is constructed?

Sure - but let me first finish the extractor.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Back!
The hair is a separate mesh, maybe that's why. At least the body UVs are intact.
Model itself looks amazing! Is it really just a pure luck hit or miss with the vehicles though?
EDIT: Yeah, I'm pretty sure the hair uses a separate texture. At least Wei's does.

YES! Although most of the details are a bit over my head I'm sure I can figure it out.
Thank you so much, this will make a lot of people very happy, I guarantee it.

I hope so.SergeantJoe wrote:Thank you so much, this will make a lot of people very happy, I guarantee it.
But with the vehicles there's some weird error I didn't figure out so far.
FireEngine
and bisai01:
Again I have to look for a small model with this error to understand what's going on.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Well, I hope you can get that sorted out. The wheels are missing because they're stored in a different .perm.bin file.
And by the way, your program seems to be creating .obj files all right, but they're completely empty. Or am I just doing something wrong?

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Talking about the t12-button? Another thing to be figured out - so far only for sampan01 something useful (fender, steering wheel) is being created.SergeantJoe wrote:And by the way, your program seems to be creating .obj files with nothing in them.
(Maybe I should lock this button to avoid the tool losing reputation?
"Completely" empty? Could you give a model example/params used/buttons pressed?

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
I didn't change anything, I just loaded the very first .perm.bin from Characters_New and it gave me this.
It must be my computer again, other people are saying it works fine.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Say, did Ekey ever release this?
The folks at FP are trying to get textures, and that would be very useful for those of us that aren't programmers.

Well that's a disappointment. Oh well, we do have the program that Shako showed us, that will have to do.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Say, will you continue working on this? I know that you're doing this out of good will and on your own time, but I really want to get as much done as possible.
Who knows when another person with programming experience will take notice of this game?
EDIT: And by the way, I've tried running the program on Windows 8, and even on Windows 7 and XP virtual machines, it still produces 0 kb files no matter what. Does it require any special libraries or anything?

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Yes - problem is that I'm a little bit stuck atm at the additional faces on the vehicles.SergeantJoe wrote:Say, will you continue working on this?
I cut the bisai01 LOD2 model down to 100 vertices and still don't have a clue how to identify the additional (=wrong) faces or where they come from:

On every model? Or some models? Then could you please give me a model name? (But keep in mind I only can check the models from your 9.87 MB samples zip.)EDIT: And by the way, I've tried running the program on Windows 8, and even on Windows 7 and XP virtual machines, it still produces 0 kb files no matter what. Does it require any special libraries or anything?
If it's on every model then I'd like to know if anyone else having this problem.
And 'no' it doesn't require any special library.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
I've tried dozens of different models from both folders, they all end up the same. I'm pretty sure it's just me though, everyone else I've talked to seems to be able to do it just fine. Strange.shakotay2 wrote:On every model? Or some models?
Oh well, I already got someone that I can send bins to and they can convert them for me.
The Bisai is the smallest four-wheeled vehicle in the game, I'm not sure what else to say.
