My Place

Post by Mr.Mouse » Sun Jul 01, 2007 7:58 pm

I thought to open a thread with some snaps of people's computer rooms/places. So we can picture them sitting there when they post here ;).

To start off with, here's three of my base in 2002.

One snapshot I had taken for a PC games website (cleaned up).

This was in March 2002. The other snapshots are from May 2002. Those display more the natural habitat at the time. :P :D I'm sure I'm not the only one whose "offices" at home look like that. Anyway, I had a small network at the time, with one computer acting as firewall/server (P75) and two others to work on (AMD 450 + Geforce 1, and a Pentium 800 + Geforce 2). :D

You may also notice the Commodore Amiga (600) on top of the firewall's monitor in the May pictures. Across the room (not on the pictures) you would find another desk with a Commodore 64 set + TV. 8D

Perhaps I'll come up with new snaps of my current room ;) .

Lovely... Truly breathtaking... :D

I'd upload a few pictures myself, if I had a camera to use... *ph43er*

Hehe...yeah, beer, sigarettes and Counter-strike (I noticed on the screen). Looks a bit misty from the smoke... Must have been taken late at night (prolly after midnight). :P

Indeed. It is a real tribute to Dutch tidiness.

hehe messy setup.
Well i dont really use my room as an office so i suppose mine much tidier because of that.

Bare in mind i moved into this room 3 days ago now...(its still the same house i just moved into the room with my gf, who is currently away *sigh* :[ :( ) so i havent really finished tidying it yet...

but this is where i do all my stuff i suppose, the wacom down there is for stuff im drawing for a college Project and the air freshener is, its 12:10PM so ive nly just eaten Breakfast and starting drinking some tea (sometimes...if i dont drink tea i feel like crap all day...im starting to think ive become addicted to the caffeine in the tea or something.
All the junk behind the pc isnt related to me its just my gf's stuf i personally normally have empty walls in a bedroom aside from shelves so ive never understood a persons need to make a room "homey".

Hehe, nice pics. So you've got two systems there ready to start-up ? What's in them (hardware) ?

It looks rrreally tidy compared to my previous set-up (scroll up) and my current one (will make some pictures tonight). I'm now in the attic of our new house, and we've only recently moved in there, and attics are for, well mess. And so it looks like. But the next home project of mine will be "clear up the f*cking attic".

So, you've just moved in with your girlfriend huh? You're a man, so you naturally you don't see the need to make a room "homey". Trust me, now that you've moved in with your girlfriend, you will soon see the need. Or indeed: *her* need. ;) :P (I've lived together for years now, talking from experience hehe).

2 systems?
Nah ive just got one system there the other if box is my subwoofer (I listen to music constantly...incidently tho im not a fan of BASS despite having that huge subwoofer lol).
Well actually iv just into her room, we were originally College friends then house mates (considering we both go to the same college) so we have already been living together for a full year now and we got together after a few months of living together so i only had to move 1 room across (my room was originally next to hers anyways). So i know what living with the other halfs like and i dont really mind it,well she already has her stuff on the walls so i dont mind if she puts mine up but me...ive got like 10000 dvds and Manga in my old room that my mates taking (he is moving in too) and the new girl will be downstairs so its 4 people in a 3 bedroom house.
2 girls and 2 guys is a good ratio, a house of guys would be annoying and a house of too many girls would be Bitchey i think , besides as long as everyone cooks its fine hehe, me and my mate can cook really well anyways.

Yeah interested in seeing ur "attic/office" hehe

Ah, and so I see assumptions are mostly wrong. Anyway, so it's a woofer, but should that not be on the ground for the bass effect?

Ah.... those student days...you should cherish them. Mine were great!

WTF is up with all those pricks playing Jack The Ripper in London, by the way???

Jack the ripper?u mean all the stabbings and such?including that murder of the guy who stars in the new harry Potter movie?
If you don't mean that then im a bit unsure what you mean, you might have to elaborate a bit sorry.

Yeah im a student.im 21 and in my final BA year of animation and game design (This time we get to make short movies 2.5mins yay..) but yeah a student still..and nope i never put the subwoofer on the floor mainly because the Master volume up and down is ON the woofer itself and i don't wanna always have to lean down and up to adjust settings.

kinda off-topic on a matter that's off-topic on the thread itself...
did you know there is a 1st person adventure game with Jack the Ripper?
well not the original Jack, its about a murderer in NY that murders some prostitutes in disturbing ways and all of that, I have the game, if you want I can extract stuff from it and we'll all have jack the ripper avatars :]
