I've went through this thread from page 1 and up.
I'm very interested in the file format as I see a relationship to other Games I do work with.
Did the early versions have granny2.dll or anything like that?

Forza Studio isn't working on my PC,
so quick fix the source code, and compile it myself.

Thank you Ernegien!!

Yeah I know they use granny as there are references to it in the executable. I can't remember if it was included as a standalone library or linked with the game though. I also don't know anything about the format itself to tell you whether or not that's what was used to store their car and track model information. I was under the assumption that it was a custom container format, but I could very well be mistaken...

Thanks, would you mind telling everyone what was changed? I'm assuming it most likely dealt with the MultiSampleType or some other presentation parameter. I can't wait to finally give this thing the proper rewrite it deserves :P

The format of the files can be highly modified with the Granny system. That's what makes it so difficult to figure out from one game to the next at times.
So you could be working with a modified form of the gr2
That's what interests me. It may be a variation I've not looked at before.

I don't learn C# and XNA.
Please read on to know it.

The source code remains two problems in "ForzaStudioForm.cs".

1. MultiSampleType (it's not important)
You set two MultiSampleType.
But video card is used with various type,
so you need to get and check user anti-aliasing support by C# function.

2. UpdateCamera function (it's serious)
Running Forza Studio in Debug Mode,
an error "NullReferenceException" appears in "UpdateCamera()" function at
"Camera.Update()", "be.View = Camera.View" around them.
You should avoid this error in some way.

In my quick fixed case, delete "UpdateCamera" and that code includes in "MainLoop" directly, and so on.

That error is probably because of shader version on your PC.
Your video card is less of pixel or vertex shader version.

I don't think that is a problem of the PC or of the my scheda video because I've tried on other two PC and I have the same error

@droid1968,

Don't worry about the UV Mapping.
It seems the Autovista models has a small correct Uv mapping.
I have noticed some objects of interior needs a big scaling.
The UV mapping is still there, but it's needs scaling.
Look for my screenshots of the Lamborghini Reventon few pages back.
As you can see, the leather and stitches are very well mapped.
Before I did that, they were too small scaled.
I had to scale the UV mapping very big to get such results.
However, the engine/engine bay is a complete mess.
It's, it's not done, the worst thing is, buttons textures are needed for the engine??
I don't know, some UV mapping looks like overlapping.
Anyway, I don't know but Turn10 can't map the engine for shit.

But, as you might have known, there are always a few people who can do better than Turn10 itself :P

Just don't worry about the programs/tools.
Forza Studio is not the final release.
We should be very very glad we can import FM4 models.
Since FM4 is released, there are really nice new cars, wich FM3 doesn't have.

Hats off to Energien :D

Thanks for the reply Big bear....i too see that it is a scale issue also with the body...sadly I am not proficient at mapping or scaling :(
I have been playing with zmod a bit and also 3DSmax and trying to learn it is the one thing that holds me back in my modding hobby for GTR2
and I also agree there some VERY talented hobbyists in the community
I eagerly await the finished forza studio so I can then get my mits on the rest of the LOD models as I will need the lod1 and lower models for GTR2.

What Energien and the other fellas are doing here is wonderful work :) I watch this forum all the time to see the progress you all accomplish here...again fantastic work fellas...I wish i could help but i no nothing of what you all do with code

I agree Big bear ...there is soo many nice new models in Forza 4 the 2 458's in the DLC's are my faves.

Please keep up the wonderful work on this program...you all have made it possible to convert some beautiful cars to our favorite games and for this a whole community of modders thanks you :D

Please, people.
Don't bump this topic with useless sense.
You should read posts of Energien.
Programming/coding has never been an easy task and it gives very lots of pain the butt and head.
Just be patience, X360 coding is like coding on an entire NASA reverse-engineering crap.
