Right, new build up, now with bgm.dat extraction. Comments, suggestions, etc welcome as usual. EDIT : for those of you that got the 1.6 build, get the new 1.6a build. It includes a new libvorbis.dll and writes 4channel ogg files that actually *have* 4 channels, instead of 2 stereo channels and 2 cha...

I've been getting some help from people on a russian Metal Gear site , so expect to see new additional functionality soon. Anyway, sneak preview of the next build : http://users.skynet.be/fa299024/MGS/sneakpreview.jpg No ETA on the public release, could be tomorrow, could be somewhere in the middle ...

Small interim update : the new build new has XTI texture preview (no transparency) and extended search options.
I'll add model previewing one of these days.

Well actually, see the actual problem is that I do not see ANY alpha channel in the transparent type textures. I wonder if it is cause I have Photoshop 7. The files are just a transparent texture, single layer (which Maya doesn't support that way, it needs an alpha channel). I go into the channels ...

Welcome back Turfster! Thanks for the update! :) Thanks, and no problem. I have a question maybe you can answer for me.... I think I've figured out why I haven't been able to display the transparency textures properly in Maya (such as Snake's hair). Sure part of it has to do with Maya what I can't ...

BG&E uses the first(?) version of the JADE Engine (also used in the Prince of Persia games, for example), and its bin files are in a slightly different format than what I'm used to, but if enough people are interested, I can write a texture/model extractor for it (hoping the formats haven't evolved ...

No people, I'm not dead, I've just been so swamped with work I didn't feel like doing any coding ;) http://www.elin-grindemyr.nl/whoops.JPG OK, I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is. Your regional settings use "," instead of "." for decimal point, which was supposed to be trapped, but apparentl...

New build up, now has 2 object exporting options, either the old way (concatenate by texture) or the way the milkshape plugin loads the model (stick to submesh definitions).

Nice!! :D
Nope, haven't touched the audio (PS2 audio is my nemesis), but darkfader's mul2wav tool should work (apart from occasionally getting the number of channels wrong in the header)

Someone asked me to help them with this, so I've been taking the game apart for the last few days. The current version of my toolset supports bigfile and drmfile extraction and texture and model conversion.

Think you could somehow CHANGE this man? As i animate the models and learn programs while making cool animations. So if there is a way to leave the MODELS in their ORIGINAL state can u maybe try and look into this PLEASE man. Well, the current models are all *static*, so they're not *supposed* to b...

Cool dude. So you PLAN to go all the way with this game then? Like get as MUCH as you can before it becomes a Burden. I usually keep working on stuff until I get bored/distracted/run into a brick wall, so I'll see how far I can get. I dont own/have Milkshape, as I use 3DS MAX instead (THIS loads AL...

These are readily playable in Windows Media Player, but I'm not sure how to convert PAC to another format else (or vise versa). They're standard MPEG1 streams. The first thing I can note is that the filesize of the archive INCREASED even though I didn't add any new information to the textures, so I...

Re: Yup lol

Upped a new build (20/07) that should now convert *all* kmy files without problems. If you find any that give random poly-soups or crash Solidus, mail me. Note that I know both raiden and snake's hair is messed up. This is (most probably, 99%) NOT my fault, but due to the Realistic Wavy Hair(tm) in ...
