Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
IMPORTANT good news :) is NOT needed to rebuild the whole ttarch archive but is enough to build a new one called 0.ttarch containing ONLY the files which have been changed. for example I have extracted button_launch_launchdemo.png (the "Launch free demo!" image) from 0_monkeyisland101_pc_l...

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
the reason is simple. in a couple of the MI ttarch archives it's used the compression and so they are smaller while in my rebuilder I supported only the clean method because it's retro-compatible with any older game and it's easier to implement. if you have problems with the editing of the images ju...

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
oh, I forgot to say that if the d3dtx contains the dds with its first 0x800 bytes encrypted (you need a hex editor to verify it) you need to perform this additional cut+encrypt operation which could be boring.

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
the problem of the files (d3dtx, aud and lenc) handled with the -m option is that doesn't "seem" to exist a relation between them and the format of the file or the version of the ttarch archive or other things (lenc excluded which are simply encrypted completely and ever). practically in t...

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
released version 0.1.4
this version is important also because there was a bug in the extraction where some rare files were corrupted in their last bytes, so remember to update.

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
yeah this game crashes with the rebuilt archive.
I have already performed some tests in this moment without finding the cause so tomorrow I will take a look again to the info_table because there is additional data at its end

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
released version 0.1.3 which is able to rebuild the ttarch archives: http://aluigi.org/papers.htm#ttarchext if I'm not in error sam&max use version 4 (you can verify it when you extract or list the original archive) so try the following example command-line: ttarchext.exe -b -V 4 6 c:\output.tta...

Re: R2BEAT online pak file,plz help me~
the extracted files are identical to those obtained with the C++ code you pasted, so they are ok.
P.S.: eh eh eh I guess that mr.mouse will scream when he will see how you quoted in the previous post :)

Re: R2BEAT online pak file,plz help me~
the compression algorithms are ever a chaos. anyway plus or less yes, as far as I know, lzss is also known as lz77. the problem are the derived algorithms like visible on http://datacompression.info/LZSS.shtml which creates confusion so you must be 100% sure of the algorithm (which by my tests perfo...

Re: R2BEAT online pak file,plz help me~
the error was a variable used with a different name (FNAMELEN and FILNAMELEN) so I have adjusted the bms script but the problem is that the compression algorithm is not lzss. comtype lzss # NOT the right compression!!! goto -1 get FILETYPE byte goto -5 get FILES long goto -9 get LISTOFFSET long goto...

Re: Dead to rights 2 - PAK format 80% done
the specific starforce encryption applied to files/archives can be recognized by the SFFS signature in the files, do you see it in them?
anyway I'm not aware of tools able to decrypt it

Re: Dead to rights 2 - PAK format 80% done
the TMSA signature remembers me the Trymedia stuff for which already exist tools for doing the decryption/unpacking job (and so with the only remaining job of extracting the files from the clean archive).
have you already tried with it?

Re: Telltale and Gametap - extract to translate
that bms script was only a beta experiment, now the complete project is called ttarchext: http://aluigi.org/papers.htm#ttarchext in the new 0.1.2 version I have added support for the new format used in Tales of Monkey Island (version 7, a customized blowfish encryption) just after its release this n...
