Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

Figured someone might wanna do this as well for shop images and other icons: changing line 233 in tex.py to this f"{exe} {rewrite}{vflip}-ft png -srgbi -l -f R8G8B8A8_UNORM_SRGB -o {fdir} {fpath}" will output files with lowercase '.png' extension and gamma will be correct in Windows Photos...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

If someone has time and enthusiasm for it, he\she could grab R6S test server client and try ripping something from it using same scripts. If it works then chances are they are going to rewrite textures later this year. If scripts fail, that means reversing is to be done from scratch on those types ...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

Happened to me too, It also took an unusually long time to run, compared to other models. I think it might have been trying to export just too much data and it ran out of memory in the buffer or something It exports a lot of headgears and other skins for Iana as well not just the default ones that'...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

Thanks, it's interesting to consider. I like the effects it has on several materials, but found one that it doesn't agree with; there is an important pattern on Aruni's shirt that's defined entirely by the specular, which gets cancelled out. Hmm, I'll continue to be uncertain as well. https://imagi...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

@Floxay, when you upload models you tag also Roughness map. Which one are you plugging into roughness? For example in the DP27. Unfortunately if there are shaders made up in the .fbx it doesn't perserve it into Blender. Inverted G, i'm not sure if it's correct 🤷 actually i know my nodes are not cor...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

Took a few menu screenshots for side-by-side looks. The higher quality was obvious enough in all cases, but I couldn't spy any obvious clues about diffuses in specific. Most or all of the improvements could be the normal maps to my eye. I'll include the most potential diffuse difference I seen, wit...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

Also, for anyone wondering, the black textures are not corrupted, they just show up as black in the windows pic preview due to having a completely transparent alpha channel. Go into Gimp/Photoshop to remove it. alpha is a texture map in some diffuse textures, don't remove it? Also, thanks Tushkan f...

Re: Rainbow Six: Siege Models Thread

I've not seen anybody talking about normal data but that doesnt look correct to me, or you guys just 'fixed' them somehow in blender/maya etc after importing?

what I'm doing rn is merge double verts and use weighted normal data modifier but its far from perfect, but looks "more correct"
