Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
That message is caused by not returning a 1 or 0 from your handler to indicate success or failure. I'd comment on more of this, but I'm on my phone and typing on this thing is like water torture. Brilliant! I completely forgot about that! I'll have to fix that promptl-uhh... more like when I'm less...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Well, after a series of very industry standard bash-your-head-into-the-computer-until-it-works techniques, I succeeded... eh-mostly. I can properly read and output NPC images... I can read enemy and battle images as well... but the palettes are a bit off... the only -problem- is the little ghost tha...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
[EDIT: Sorry to get ahead of myself, let me thank you all for the help you've volunteered so far first. Thanks, it is appreciated. Also if there's a better forum for this, despite the code being specific to Noesis, let me know and I'll move it there.] Ok so obviously I've done a bit more on this... ...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Sorry for the double post, but this is more pertaining to the code I'm (slightly blindly) writing to read the files. from inc_noesis import * def registerNoesisTypes(): handle = noesis.register("Star Ocean sprite", ".unslz") noesis.setHandlerTypeCheck(handle, noeCheckGeneric) noe...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Will do! On the header exploration, they seem to be pretty straight forward, however there aren't any identifiers as to what type of file is what, data-wise. (I can obviously tell by opening them in a raw image viewer like GGD and messing around some.) Some files contain a group header that routes t...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
You amaze me... are you the Doctor? You always seem to show up at just the right moment... Thanks for the script, I'll use it as a base to try bashing together some stuff for the other image formats once I understand their headers... though I'll probably be back for help. And to clarify, the other i...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
As for code, I'd only be able to create a program the is self contained, and I could only then load the file data, but not view it or process it (mainly because I don't have the specs for other files to use as an output) However, one thing I can say I fully understand is the format of this particula...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
As a bit of a stroke of luck I have actually managed to find all of the tools and information I needed to separate, decrypt, decompress, and in some cases view... all(assumedly) of the files from Star Ocean: First Departure and would like to have a plugin for Noesis to process them... As it stands I...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
The FF9 stuff is freaking awesome, but I'm having an issue with export. Take a look at this data from the OBJ export of Freya v -217.847580 -400.081451 65494.441406 v -185.781647 -412.432251 65523.082031 v -225.771103 -424.573151 65495.613281 The Z axis coord is REALLY big... I'm betting it's suppos...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Unfortunately the wiki page seems to be down at the moment, but I recall Zidane2 and Zande are the two who did a large majority of the work on FF9. I according to a PM I got, Qhimm started writing a model viewer but gave up on it, and the source code was released... looking through it it seems to be...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Having messed around with the Unity game engine recently, I've noticed that OBJ's and DAE's import at vastly different sizes. I think in the end is it simply an issue with the intercompatibility of the two formats. For instance, when I wrote an exporter for FF9's geometry data (you don't want it, tr...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Doesn't openCOLLADA have an import scale option? Does it really make so much difference if you have to change the import scale once in a while?
