Yes, those files are definitely encrypted.
Without knowing the encryption method and key, it would be difficult to get the data. Hopefully someone will know, as the extraction part after that is easy.

Re: Twisted Metal: Black Main Menu music|Extracting .BNK files with VGMToolbox guide.
PSound can get you the audio from those BNK archives. However, if you want the music, that is stored in the SHELLMUS.BNK file, but not as an audio file. All of the instruments are stored separately, and there is a MIDI-like table to put it all together. So it would need someone to decipher this tabl...

Re: In Cold Blood [PS1] Music.CLU/CLU Data files BMS Script?
Hi. Yes, I've had a look at D:BH, but it is a very complicated format. The index itself is easy enough to get the individual files, but it's putting all that together that's the hard part. If I have time I will look into it further as there's probably some good music and dialogue to rip from there.

I did have a script somewhere. I'll try to find it.
There's also sound fx and speech in the .STR, .SND and .SPK files in the "M" folders.

Re: Freedom Fighters (Xbox) streams_*.wav/FF*.WAV/FF*.WHD/FF*.SND/FF*.LOC
I extracted the files from PC version of this game, so it should be similar.
SND contains the filenames and offsets
WHD contains sample rate, channels, etc.
LOC contains the dialogue
WAV contains the audio
I'll have a look to see how similar it is to the PC version.

Re: I need some help with some wem files
What are you using to convert them?
They seem to play perfectly well with Foobar/vgmstream, which can also convert them to various formats.

Re: Help converting .SAM+.PPS audio files
Hi,
I did it that way because it was easier for me as I already had a script. I don't know if you can convert them without Foobar, but it's easy enough anyway.
If I had more time I would have created them with a proper DSP header

Re: Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger PSX .pac/str files (looking for ingame music)
The .str files don't contain the soundtrack, but there are small bits of dialogue over some music - these can be played on Foobar with vgmstream. The music itself is contained in the PAC files. However, they're in some sort of MIDI-type format as you can use PSound to hear the samples of the individ...

Re: .Wem to .ogg dirt rally 2.0
The file that doesn't work looks to be either compressed or encrypted.
If you could post the full .bnk file, I could have a look at it.

Re: Filename for files after extraction?
Some archives have filenames, but lot don't. Some filenames are encrypted too or stored elsewhere from the main audio archives. Some just have file ID numbers. So basically it's just luck if an archive has filenames or not.
