Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
MrAdults - Oh dear! I thought the link you gave me was revelation's paypal! I didn't give it to you...but yes, he gave it to you because you generically stated you wanted to make a donation in the Noesis thread, and I'm the author of Noesis. Should've said you wanted to donate specifically to whoev...

pixeldamage: I saw you paypal'd me 20 bucks thanking me for Red Dead support, but that's all revelation, he's the one that made the Noesis plugin to support the game. I just made Noesis itself. I'll ask him if he has paypal next time I see him on gtalk, and forward him your 20 bucks if he does.

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
This may seem random, but where can i get a list of all games(not just formats) supported by this(noesis)? Also, LOVE the program, you are a HERO for making it. I haven't been keeping a list of individual games. Since a lot of formats are used in dozens or hundreds of games (like GMO), I imagine th...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
revelation: Nice. :) kovalevich007: Try updating your MSVC 2005/2008/2010 runtimes. You can run dependencywalker on the plugin DLL to see which dependent DLL is the problem. (but also make sure you're running the latest version of Noesis, that's the other usual cause) I finally shat out a build toda...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
I like how you guys have started phrasing feature requests as though they're your personal hopes and dreams. But sorry, you know, if I had time/energy/desire to accommodate random-ass requests, Noesis wouldn't already be crawling along at the pace it is at the moment. I'm hoping someone can be assed...

Re: Extract FFX/FFX-2 models withought bones resetting to 0,
That doesn't happen. Use an OpenCOLLADA plugin to import the dae produced by Noesis. (if you don't select OpenCOLLADA from the filetype dropdown when importing, Max will use its Autodesk DAE importer which is not compatible)

Re: MSET RESEARCH PROJECT + FILES UPLOADED + SOURCES
If it only has one frame, couldn't you just take a 3D capture? Or would that screw up the model? Come to mention it, the ASET exporter on the whole is not entirely complete. There are several instances where it just won't transpose the animations. Perhaps someone could fix it, and since it's in C# ...

Yeah I fixed that, just haven't gotten around to putting up a release. I'll probably do it this weekend.

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Bagserk: If there's no thread on the format, and it's an archive format, you should go make a thread about it in the game archive forum. You'll probably have to upload some sample data as well if you want anyone to help you. DOTAPRINCE: Noesis will load the textures if they're in the same directory ...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Sword of the Bersek .pac models were basically NJCM models and PVR VQ (for the most part) textures, which are very Dreamcast-specific formats. I'd bet good money that any PS2 Berserk games would use very different file formats, even if they happen to have the same file extension. So, basically, addi...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Flattened skeletons are very common, particularly in the PSX-PS2 eras. No hierarchical transforms required at runtime. Lots of games still flatten the skeleton across specific hierarchies while retaining hierarchy where necessary for procedural joints too. The only real downside to doing it that way...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Well in that case your work is much appreciated. As I said I wasn't asking, nor was I expecting. I'll keep looking, eventually I'll get it, right? At least that's the idea... That's usually how it goes. In the case of PS2 stuff, at least there's a lot of documentation on the hardware workings float...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Looks like a crash in __PyVerify_fd (Python library) based on the address. That function is Python-native and is just trying to validate a file handle. It's rather disgusting and makes assumptions about what the CRT is doing, and I'm sure Wine is doing something it doesn't expect. Arguably Wine shou...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Latest version still works just fine for me in whatever ancient version of darwine I've got on my osx partition. Reasons for not making non-Windows builds are numerous, including the fact that there's absolutely no reason it shouldn't run in wine (and has never failed on any version I've tried - it'...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Oh yeah, swizzle vs. twiddle. I've decided that swizzle should be used exclusively to refer to the process of swapping/re-ordering components of a fragment/pixel. The word swizzle is widely used to describe that process in the graphics world. Twiddle should be reserved for describing a byte-level an...
