Re: [PC] Unreal (1995 & 1997 alpha versions) resource extrac
I'm in support of this, these are the demos containing the dragon, beta blob that looks a bit like a Visceroid, gargoyle-like Warlord, and so forth? I certainly hope the model format hasn't changed much between the versions. As my experience goes with the beta I'm working with (recreating mainly jus...

I.M. Meen Hacking Discoveries
Well, thought I'd put this is Code Talk as it does involve some of its game code. I've decided to put this up for anyone interested in hacking I.M.Meen for any purpose. Bear in mind that when it went to Chill Manor, OBJECTS.DEF was encrypted or changed to a binary format and IMAGES.IMG was given fur...

Re: request: star crusader (take 2/gametek 1994) models?
Thing is, if they were figured out, would be an easy process to convert them to a regular format. Personally I'd think they would be easier as they contain no animations and are only vertex meshes as I understand. I think similar to Descent models for ships, since they have no moving parts. The thru...

Re: request: star crusader (take 2/gametek 1994) models?
That is not very useful and I already extracted them. They are certainly not 3DS format now, nor is the textures. I'm sure they have been converted to a proprietary format otherwise it would be more straight forward. Anyways, I would have been able to notice if it was 3DS, even if a really early for...

Re: request: star crusader (take 2/gametek 1994) models?
No progress on Sinistar Unleashed, but I hope somebody with knowledge of 3D models may take a look into it and this. I believe they are skeletal models in Sinistar Unleashed unlike these which are shapes. The textures used by Star Crusader is compressed in an unknown way but may relate to TGA, but t...

Actually, yes. =D

Here's the means to extract the files. Maybe a QuickBMS version can be made? A thing to keep in mind is that there are no extensions, these are assigned by the game itself so would be hard to work in.

Re: request: star crusader (take 2/gametek 1994) models?
Well, these were interests of mine as well but never got any help regarding them. I suppose given their age they are not easily viewed? Regardless, here's the post with examples of the model format: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2558&p=20362&hilit=Star+Crusader#p20362 I never got far ...

Re: Wii brres viewer bones extract?
MD5 and PSK export retain the bones, these formats can be imported and converted further by many model editing programs as they are fairly widely supported formats. You should have no issues finding importers/exporters for these. Don't see why you would require dae, but you can convert it to that af...

Re: FF9 Let's Finish This Model Format New Findings Added
Not really, not all reasons for extracting files is to edit the game, but rather to examine the files within and such.
Edit: Then again, extracting is the first step in recompilation, so who knows?

Re: MSET RESEARCH PROJECT + FILES UPLOADED + SOURCES
A lot of good progress was made here. Is right now a process to go through but a working method is a working method. MSET to ASET would skip a lot of this instead of getting it through the hacked viewer, I'm assuming that is the file used by the importer. And yes, it is only natural for the files to...

Re: MSET RESEARCH PROJECT + FILES UPLOADED + SOURCES
Excellent work there, Shapyi! (: Very happy to see animation support coming into play here. At current yours would seem to be the best for getting animations until direct MSET support happens in Rev's Noesis plugin. Unfortunately pcsx2's debugger functionality is no longer operational, and even in o...

Re: Rusty hearts .pck
Technically, most file hacks like that would be client-side only or be sniffed/blocked out easily, and 98% of all online hacking is performed with memory hacking programs that have no connection with file editing but rather editing values in memory (like gameshark). The only way file cracking could ...

Re: Persona 3 (psp) *.pac
Noesis is a beautiful piece of work like that, it simplifies a lot of these matters. It also intrigues me that they use GMO instead of a proprietary format. Lately Atlus has been using NIF and GMO it seems.
