Re: Davidson & Associates .res files

Thank you so much for the script, and sorry for the late reply. (If there's another file it's supposed to match up to, just post it here and I'll add in support for those in version 2). I'm in the process of looking into this; it's possible that the name data may be contained within some other files...

Installation on a new PC

Hello, I recently built a new computer for myself, which I plan to use as my main machine. I would like to use MultiEx Commander on my new computer; is there a limit to the number of machines I can install it on at once? I would like to know before I try and install it, as I don't want to break any ...

Re: Detective Barbie 2: The Vacation Mystery .wpk files

I don't know what's up with the actual audio though. It sounds to be just a sample rate problem, which I don't know why is happening. That part I can't help you with sorry :/. It's more than just the sample rate; the data itself is completely different, if you look at the two files in a hex editor....

Re: Detective Barbie 2: The Vacation Mystery .wpk files

Well, it's been a while, but I've actually figured out a few things about this. I can't figure out most of the header, but that 2C 00 00 00 actually refers to the length of the normal RIFF header. The 4 bytes after that header are the file length, minus 0x44 for the information prior to the data. As...

Davidson & Associates .res files

I'm at it again: I'm looking at files from old educational computer games I played as a kid. Files that end in .res can be found with several games by Davidson & Associates, but here I will be looking at one file from Math Blaster Episode 2: Secret of the Lost City, Version 1.2 C, as well as a f...

Knowledge Adventure .rsc files

For once, this is not a request, but rather something I managed to figure out on my own! .rsc files, also used in Knowledge Adventure games, contain picture files, as well as what appear to be scene (.scn), actor (.atr), and script (.scr--not screensaver) files. Structure: char {6} - ID (BWRF10) uin...

Knowledge Adventure .bal files

These are *.bal files, used in games from Knowledge Adventure. These particular ones are from JumpStart 1st Grade Math. Looking at them, I think they contain sound, but they're either encrypted or compressed. They also don't have a signature in the header. MEGA link: https://mega.nz/#!DkgViIIY!RI2Qu...

Re: Detective Barbie 2: The Vacation Mystery .wpk files

Apologies for the (somewhat) late response, as I've been pretty busy. I have attached a zip file containing 8 .wpk files here.

Detective Barbie 2: The Vacation Mystery .wpk files

I am very confused about the *.wpk files found in Detective Barbie 2: The Vacation Mystery (I don't have a copy of the first game, but I assume it uses the same format). Looking at them, there appear to be data for actual .wav files (the RIFF header and so on), but extraction tools don't seem to det...
