Re: Metro 2033 vfs file
Ok, I extracted correctly the file called textures.vfs0, but the file extension of the images are xxx.512 or xxx.1024 that I suppose is the texture resolution. But... How I can open this texture file? Running into the same situation. I opened up one of these files and found random strings / body of...

Re: WIP - Fear 2 Tools
I've been having the exact same problem. I've not a clue why it won't work even as instructed with the readme.

Re: Crytek CGF models
Just joining. Nice screenshot in max looks like you guys are making progress, but I have a question. On top of the newer CGF format, apparently .CHR is yet another format for model content? I have 3d Object Converter 4.40 and it opens both these formats flawlessly, perhaps if you can look into this ...

Re: GR2 to OBJ (Unrelated Help)
After reading the readme file it looks like the program REQUIRES you to name the output file manually. I think that's your hangup. Sorry I don't know much about batching other than the basics, if you can find a way to grab the name of the current source file and automatically create the name of the ...

Re: List of games that you can extract 3d models from !
Does anyone know how to extract models from Return to Castle Wolfenstein? So far I've only extracted from F.E.A.R. and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but I really want to know how to extract from Castle Wolfenstein. Are you speaking of this game? http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/return-to-castle-wolfenstein http://pc.gam...

Re: WIP - Fear 2 Tools
My best suggestion, when you are ready to unpack the individual .bndl files in their directories: Just follow what I did. Open up the "readme.txt" in the same folder Making sure you have "wordwrap" disabled in notepad, copy the last line in the text file, or you can copy it from here BndlExtractor.e...

Re: Low poly to high poly
Actually, my purpose would be machinima related, parodies of the games being "prettied" up for a decent production and since it's free and still crediting all copyright holders there's no way I can just ask them to hand over hi-poly source assets, it'll never happen. However, if I can find a way to ...

Low poly to high poly
Since the rise of game engines utilizing normal maps to create a "higher-def" look without the actual poly count going through the roof, game content detail has gone up exponentially with the last generation to the next. There are tons of tools free and commercial that can take a hi-poly model and a...

Re: Ps3 format help
Yea. I've definitely been keeping an eye on Geohot's blog. While I see a lot of people interested in what his reverse engineering can bring to modding the PS3, and especially for claims to direct access to the memory worrying people about exploits like wallhacks etc... in games, there's also a lot o...

Re: Ps3 format help
Dev / debug consoles aside. Someone said they got access to trophy data etc... I'm wondering how. I do know you can do a Backup to an external drive on the PS3 I haven't tried yet, maybe they just found a way to access data from the backup.

Re: [PC] Mass Effect 2 (AFC & PCC)
PCC = Upk for most everything else, textures, static meshes, material ids, etc... umodel can extract these. I noticed it had trouble with certain games and they list the games they have limited support for. IE: a couple I tried extracting only ended up with staticmesh exports at 1k because they just...

Re: [PC] Mass Effect 2 (AFC & PCC)
Awesome! Man so many tools to keep track of, I'm wondering how to use this, treating it like umodel, sick it's directory in the paths for the OS to use in commandline. Only getting 1kb OGG files output cuz it's having an error, so i'm trying to find some sort of documentation, the hist.txt file that...

Re: Unreal Engine 3 Character Textures
Were you running batch files to convert everything in a directory? I noticed the tool doesn't like to convert when a directory starts to get pretty large in size, so I would move already converted folders it created out of that directory and continue with my batch and it would run fine :). I'd sugge...

Enemy Territory Quake Wars .MEGA textures?
I remember reading somewhere the process of making Megatextures being very time consuming as it's a cooked file that's processed for the game to understand a huge amount of texture information. I was wondering if there's a way to convert or extract whatever is inside these huge files?
