Re: PS3 FPK file

Here's a QuickBMS script for the FPK archive, didn't look too hard at the TSB file. # FPK Extractor: Gundam Senki Record UC 0081 (PS3) # script for QuickBMS http://aluigi.org/papers.htm#quickbms # # Tested against "gaw_00.fpk" file # idstring "FPK\x00" endian big get FILECOUNT long # 0x04 get HEADER...

Re: Astro Boy: The Video Game (PS2) - BIGB ... <Strad Wad>

Not sure what the first large block of info with the RIFF header is, but it looks like the value at 0x1FC is the start address of unencrypted Sony ADPCM data divided by 0x800 (for the files that contain Sony ADPCM data).

Re: Grand Theft Auto 2 Dreamcast .str files

There's no need to add a GENH header. This file will work as-is with the latest vgmstream.

Re: Need help with bf files from "Return to Mysterious Islan

I've written an extractor in C# (so, .NET is required). I tested it with all the files in the demo, hopefully it will work for the complete game. Source is included as well if any modifications are needed. I've also included a .bat file to loop over *.bf, executing the tool.

Re: The Matrix: Path of Neo - gloabl.wad

Nice work, I look forward to hearing the results. Edit: Here's a snippet to cut the headerless WADs with according AlphaTwentyThrees tips snakebite.exe "NSGLOB~1.WAD" "NSGLOB~1\NSGLOB~1_1.WAD" 0x00038000 0x063FFFFF snakebite.exe "NSGLOB~1.WAD" "NSGLOB~1\NSGLOB~1_2.WAD" 0x06800000 0x0C7FFFFF snakebit...

Re: The Matrix: Path of Neo - gloabl.wad

I've created a tool to extract the Sony ADPCM data from the *.WAD files for this game. As above, I could not decipher the first 0x38000 bytes of the NSGLOB~1.WAD file. However, I did figure out the small 0x40 byte header on each of the Sony ADPCM files. Using this info, I made a tool to extract them...

Re: Nintendo DS *.sdat

VGMToolbox can unpack SDATs completely. On top of extracting all files, it'll also unpack the SWAR archives (to SWAVs) contained within the SDAT. You can find the tool under "Misc. Tools > Extraction Tools > Nintendo DS > SDAT Extractor".

Re: Sonic Unleashed PS2 AFS

I haven't tried it myself with that game, but hcs's lafs v0.3 works great on AFS files for me. Grab it from hcs64.com's Stream Ripping Tools page. According to the Online DB for VGM Streams, the game uses both ADX and AIX files for music. Good Luck.

Re: calculating the samples of GENH files

The formula for PS2 Sample Count is as follows: # of bytes / 16 / channels * 28 So, in your case (assuming 2 channel audio) 0x760000 / 16 / 2 * 28 = 0x674000 You can find this formula, and the formulas for other GENH supported formats in the source code for VGMToolbox , in the "vgmtoolbox\format\VGM...

Hi aluigi, thanks for the general tips. Your comtype scans are very useful. I have one question, how do I know which algorithm number equals which ComType?

Re: .ipu and .ips compression

Also being an SMT fan I have been investigating these formats. It seems that .IPU is a video format (without sound) and .IPS is a video format (with sound, Sony ADPCM + IPU video). Since I do not know anything about video content and desired only the sound, I have begun by de-interleaving the sound ...
