What tool would you recommend for that? I tried one and it was useless. It closed every time I selected a .dds file for it to convert. i will convert them for you as soon as i'm back at home .... the alpha channel could be use as gradient to insert the red color with photoshop http://i64.photobucke...

the .DDS use an alpha channel .. the invisible part is the alpha channel ^^

It's the low LOD model for long distance stuff. Chances are the errors could exist in the original model, as often times game devs will generate lower LODs automatically through something like Optimize, or much more likely a specialist poly reduction plugin/script. ...some models cause max to crash if you try to import them, usualy if they're 5mb or larger (after being converted to.ms files of course).
