Re: Act of Aggression .ESS
I've made some research on this. Interesting algorithm. Anyone still want to decode this format?

Re: [HELP] [.PAK] Spy vs. Spy (2005) [PS2] [Vicious Engine]
I finished stereo/interleaving part of my tool, and now I'm getting to decoding part. I think soon it will be ready. It was easier than I expected. It's ready. Most maps have same sounds. Some maps have many more! Note that it will only work correctly for this game, because it has fixed 0x40 offset ...

Re: StarWars Battlefront unpacker / decoder
Yes, must be something wrong with this chunk, but I can't check it, because I don't have this CAS file. So I can only suggest you skipping it for now. With a code like this maybe: for entry in toc.chunks: if hexlify(entry.id)=="2550ad6e0c4d281384a6bf767bb7a959" : continue p.s. maybe its so...

Re: [HELP] [.PAK] Spy vs. Spy (2005) [PS2] [Vicious Engine]
Use these parameters to play it with MFAudio:
offset 40
channels 1
frequency 22050
most important is offset and channels, this way there will be no "staticy"

The tool is already working
It scans any file for raw vag streams.

Re: StarWars Battlefront unpacker / decoder
Presumably by commenting out the other cat path definitions? Yes, and the same answer is for "XP" packs, the script only takes CAT files its told to. So by replacing the paths to those of expansion packs, you should be able to dump it too, though I'm not sure. There's also a project by el...

Re: StarWars Battlefront unpacker / decoder
I don't have the full game, so I can't check it. I don't think the script can leak memory, but the LZ77.DLL, which is probably written in c++, can.
What's the result of unpack? How much of the data it dumps until crash?
I can suggest you unpacking 3 big parts separately: initial, mp & sp.

Re: [HELP] [.PAK] Spy vs. Spy (2005) [PS2] [Vicious Engine]
there are many ways. 1. use this scropt http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/spy_vs_spy_ps2.bms to unpack archive. Then inside you'll have a number of "map" files. Open them with hex editor, search for audio files and extract them manually. 2. try and find some tool to work with vicious engine...

Re: [HELP] [.PAK] Spy vs. Spy (2005) [PS2] [Vicious Engine]
There's always a way. The only question is how much time it could take.
Getting sounds will be easy. I don't know anything about PS2 models though.

That depends on what would i need from it. For example, I just extracted music from there with hex editor.

Re: Shinobido - Way of the Ninja (Rip PS2 Soundtrack) Please
This is the size of the header. And offsets in this file are relative.
In some other game offsets may be absolute, and you don't have to add anything.

Re: Modding the NFS Most Wanted 2012 PC soundtrack...
Looks like the file encoded by ealayer3 tool is somehow different from what is expected by the game. I see at least one value that it doesn't put there. However, I've set it, and it still doesn't work. So it must be more complex problem. I don't have a solution for this now.
