Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Well, i tried swapping movesets by replacing .mpm files. Firstly, neither Archivarius nor Ink reshuffle find all .mpm files that are listed in dat file. Besides that, swapping _SELECT animation works fine (the one which plays when you select given character). Swapping _INGAME however is not so flexi...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

@SkacikPL Re: Containers. I'm not sure what all of those do, but TTGL's were the equivalent of TMCL's for Ninja Gaiden 3 models, so not sure if they are similar or re-purposed. The PHYD is also common to characters as well. I was under the impression it was physics relation, but tests back on vanil...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

So basically, if we could edit meshes now, we'd be right at home.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Anyone ever worked out stages? They all have a set of files. The system seems to be quite flexible (won't crash no matter what). Though i don't get what some of the files are responsible for. BCLIP - ??? CAM - Stage selection camera path MPM - ??? (some sort of motion data for moving objects?) PHYD ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Looks like PC community finally starts giving some results: http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/pc-community-mod-resources.5565/page-10#post-261350 I've another question. Is it known what exactly handles character's name? I mean, is it possible to change characters name via costume. Kind of simila...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I've another question. Is it known what exactly handles character's name? I mean, is it possible to change characters name via costume. Kind of similar to how first Lisa costume is La mariposa. Is that handled via costume setup or KT hardcoded it? If it was doable, then perhaps within-body-type move...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Protocol X27 , SkacikPL Guess you're right, seems like I overestimated people's interest in modding. Well, it's a broad term really. Truth is that the community probably has lots of artists, to create models/textures, but little reverse engineers to provide tools or needed insight. Not that it mean...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I've got 360 TMCs now, and tmc parser maxscript, though i didn't test whether it's compatible with max 2015.
I still need stick it back script though.

//
Yeah, the script does nothing in max 2015.
Oh well, this is a pain to get through.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Not sure what to tell you, getting resources is not that difficult, especially if you have an Xbox... Costume data is contained in the catalogs, and getting the game data does not even require having a modded system. Well, actually i don't have any console. And as far as i can tell only versions of...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Mesh edits can be done. Since Xbox models can be injected with changes, the coordinates can serve as a reference point for the same vertices in the PC version. That's what MeshWarp.py is for. It involves finding the vertices in hex though for both containers. The script will match the coordinates, ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I'd like to help more, but like stated the information is loose and scattered everywhere making it hard to follow up, I respect the work you've done so far and how accessible you made it. Just now I started learning a bit of reverse engineering, I have no coding experience whatsoever, all I have ar...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Archivarius reads from the .dat file, so in some cases if the .dat file doesn't have the information for the encrypted name and the plain name, it won't like they containers are in their. sf234's BLP converter will actually ready the names properly and then provide a string. That string can be past...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Finally bothered to look at other modding sites. Information scattered around net (even japanese community is revived), but for now it looks like there is only discussion about content that's developed in this (and preceding) thread. Also, it turns that this forum now requires donation for new regi...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Updated DLC Tool (needs .NET Framework 4). Drag and drop now supported for "open bcm"/"add" files. Is it not yet released or i missed something again? Here it is. Well, i'm an idiot. I totally forgot you attach sources, i could've fixed that myself without bothering you lol. Nonetheless, your work ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Hair/face value stored in single byte, so range is 0-255 (0x00-0xFF) Yeah, my bad. I was thinking in laymans terms as i don't hex edit that often. I just oversimplified my thought that the input can be any integer without exceptions. Didn't even think about single byte limitation. It's already chan...
