All right I'll tell you the answer.

Think about that you picked a pair of models, which they are looking exactly same, one from xbox, another from PC.
Then they have vertex information in exactly same order with a little bit of tweak.
That's the key point. :harry

It's a core feature.

PS3 and 360 version also had SSS options.
it's been always activated.
and PS4 version has 'better' SSS...

I found SSS stuffs in mtrcol section and modified it. SSS color and depth could be changed but,.... the quality looked never like the PS4 version.. whatever I tried. Soft engine is about better SSS and another jiggle physics.
it's not technical naming, it's a some sort of advertising and you don't need to think about that deeply.

Character modelings from Ninja Gaiden have different file structure and cannot be imported to DOA5 PC version I guess.
