Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

let's say alphabets are index of vertices. when abc makes a face, aabc makes a fliped face. aaabc makes a face like abc aaaabc makes a flipped face like aabc aaabc aabc 10101 1010 when abc has 101 it will be ok, but 010 then it will be flipped. so when you connect 2 faces, abc and jkl, it's not li...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

first you need to understand this.

[360] 01 02 03 FF 04 05 06

[PC] 01 02 03 03 04 04 04 05 06

but in this case

[360] 01 02 03 04 FF 05 06 07

[PC] 01 02 03 04 04 05 05 06 07

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I tested buffer extending and made a simple index shifter for my own use.
You can simply open multiple windows for multitasking.
Index Shifter.zip
Edit : I think I've made it totally wrong way in 2 byte mod. I hope it's fixed now.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Oh I was also having similar issue. I tried to make another object into skin object, but something was missing and caused troble. And matecp seems to be the answer. But there are so many entries in matecp and I couldn't find any linkage between the object. any tutorial? *** I visited FSD for that. i...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I checked that Noesis OBJ exporter definitely drops fragmented vertices. total V count has decreased. And it even sometimes distorts order of vertices, I don't know reason why. And it also drops some part of meshes too. I think it would be a good idea to parse a new OBJ exporter for this. OBJ is fin...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

That's a bad idea.
Then TMC should need to be fixed for Max.
:harry
By simply linking isolated vertices.

Well.. never mind.
it's just my opinion because I'm too familiar with stuffs around the 3ds Max.

------
Anyway,.. Noesis OBJ exporter never worked right for me.
I always did it through 3DS max.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Anyway, while modding TMC files manually , some vertices can be excluded from indices of triangles. Then the vertices will be fragmented. The fragmented vertices will cause a little problem with OBJ. Actually, it's the matter of 3DS Max. While importing OBJ file to Max, fragmented vertices will be d...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I've been using OBJ files to edit TMC files lots of times, not in my imagination. So I can tell what's enough and not enough. and what's broken and what's not broken. I can hardly understand just sitting and complaining like you. If someone calls an overachieved thing as a broken one, then it's goin...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Multiple UV is not that important thing. In most cases, three UV maps in a TMC are just same and 4th thing is an unique UV map for dust texture. Every sub mesh in a TMC shares one dust texture so there are no available UV spaces for custom meshes usually. So it's a fine idea to just set first three ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

You are right but you can handle weights by simply assigning object to a bone or copying values from nearest vertex. Anyway I wish to try amanda's tool with extending buffer size. I know how to export sub-meshes but extending buffersize is most annoying job for me to do manually, so I tried it only ...
