:o Oh my god. I didn't think Hitman would ever get modeling tools and we'd be stuck with .obj rips and fan rigs. Time to get to work downloading these games.

semory at the XNALara forums created the tool for many of the Koei Tecmo games that use this format. He has an account here but I can't remember his name. I had planned to ask him about support when Berserk came out in the West on PC since that version should provide the best models/textures. Anyway...

i dont have max which tool do you use for importing? and which script? I haven't had the chance to try the tool out but he says in the OP it kicks out smd and ascii files. You should be able to Google a working smd importer for your version of Max. Alternatively, Noesis either loads smd by default ...

Meant to say the setting that causes ¥ to display instead of / in the file path (as shown in your screenshot). Something something unicode. I haven't messed with the models in a while but if I remember correctly, that's how they import. You have to manually attach the head to the body since the characters share bodies.

Each character seemed to have one model that wouldn't load which I'm guessing has to do with the issue with embedded particles as you mentioned in the OP. That aside, everything seemed to be fine.
