Oh nicey, thanks!
Didn't know bms, good to know for future use.

Re: Textures of Beta Diablo 3, ".tex" files converter needed
Spare time project which I picked up again for fun. Back in 2014 or so had an importer working and was able to get keyframes and decided to finish it up a bit and get the code for interpolation working. Wanted to see if the fileformat of the meshes/animations changed so grabbed the current version, ...

Re: Textures of Beta Diablo 3, ".tex" files converter needed
The current version of diablo3 (2.6.1 / 2018) has some textures in a new format. The D3TexConv tool isn't able to convert format 0x2B (=43) for example a2dun_zolt_floor_design_B_autoNM.tex. Does anyone have an idea what an *autoNM file stores - or how to get them to convert ? I mean, a first guess w...

Re: The future of the forum: Q1 - How often do you come here
Question 1: How often do you come here? When I was doing research on importing diablo3 formats, I'd say almost daily. But I didn't have much time since then, so that was some time ago. I do think the information in the forums is great and it would be missed if the forum would go. Also make sure to a...

Re: Diablo 3 Animation files
Didn't post updates for some time - too busy with other things - but anyway, I also got it working now. Code is still a bit hackish and instead of rendering it (for testing-purposes) I just exported a few frames in .obj format and imported those in blender. Doesn't look quite as impressive as the ab...

Re: diablo 3 levels / world
No research (that I know of) has been done in that direction, probably difficult too, since the scenes in Diablo are randomized. T. Indeed, completely randomized zones are probably difficult, but one step back, there must be something saying which models "connect" together" - like &q...

diablo 3 .phm (physicsmesh)
I'm checking out the .phy files v24 (for d3-rs) and have some "gaps". Maybe someone has some ideas on what the data there could mean. Basically the file is a header and 3 big "chunks": triangles (40 in my testcase), vertices (30) and "something" (39). Issue 1: struct Me...

diablo 3 .scn (levels / world)
Does anyone have any information on how "levels" are put together ( locations for putting .app-meshes together )?
The .wlr and .lvl files look too small... maybe \coredata\scene\*.scn files contain the info I'm looking for...?
Regards,
Roger

Re: Diablo III .app
Trying the new script (from 2 posts ago) - it does load the adria-rs-model, but when trying to load the adria-rs-run/walk-animation I get a messagebox displaying "Maxscript rollout handler exception: --type error: Call needs function or class, got: undefined"... ? Also tried with a rs-ches...

Re: Diablo III .app
My workflow is: EDIT: kalmiya , in the previous iterations of the converter, I was able to select certain portions of it, be it wings, etc, and delete them. In this current version it looks as though it is simply one piece. Is there a way to extract the model with the pieces in tact? EDIT 2: As Teh...

Re: Diablo 3 Animation files
I have a C++ parser which loads .app and .ani files into my little experimental engine - my goal is to see if I can get the bone-animation working. Made some progress, but nothing really usable yet. I have no experience with maxscript, so I can't help you there - besides giving some general advice. ...

Re: Diablo 3 Animation files
I'm parsing the boneid as an unsigned int (C++ parser), and here I have -1 for the first bone ( = 0xFFFFFFFF ). Your value looks like minus-signed-int-max... Check how your bones are being numbered ( 0-n or 1-n) i.e. Either you are "off" on parsing ( and you are trying to interpret some &q...

Re: Diablo 3 Animation files
My guess would also be that it's due to the new RoS format. Just take a look at the header, then you can see which fileversion it actually is - check out bytes 4-7 ( and convert those from hex to int ). struct snoHeader { unsigned int tag; // 0xDEADBEEF - bytes 0-3 unsigned int ver; // .app => d3-ba...

Re: Diablo III .app
Loading the .obj in blender works - loading it in 3dsmax fails. 1. If you use blender to export from obj to obj and import that in 3dsmax it fails ( so blender does sth comparable to my exporter - would have been great if that worked, then I could have done a simple file-compare to see what's differ...
