Yikes. I'd love to help but all that is way over my head.
Somewhat of a disappointment that bones/animations won't be supported, but still, thank you once more for all your hard work.
Really hope you get that issue sorted out.

Re: [release] SleepingDogs mesh extractor
Ooh, yeah, armature would be great. Here's some stuff that might help with that.
But then again it's most likely a whole different realm so I understand if it's not possible at this time.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Alright, take your time. Meanwhile I'll get to work converting these 100+ character models.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Well, with the faces of the vehicles it's a little bit complicated. For bisai01.perm.bin for example I found 193, 1321 and 4529 faces (LOD1,2,3?). But if you display 3 models there are weird faces for example in LOD2 model. With the help from Mariusz Szkaradek I understood that the 3 submeshes have...

Re: COD Black Ops II or MW3 models?
The Call of Duty devs are actually quite nice when it comes to modding. So far they're pretty much given you a full SDK for every game. However, I've only played COD 1-3, WaW, and BO1, so I have no idea what the situation is with the newer games. They may still do that, but who knows. I remember see...

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
I just got it to work!
Turns out I was opening the model, but I never pressed the "go" button. I feel really stupid now.
EDIT: And it works perfectly. Thank you so much once again.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Process completed successfully, yet it still gives me a blank file. Oh well, it must be just a Windows 8 thing. Like I said, don't worry about it. I already got someone who can convert the files for me. EDIT: I don't really know where to put this but I thought I should mention it anyway: If you open...

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
No dice. This is really bizarre.
Oh well, don't worry about it. This isn't the first time my computer has mysteriously broken a program for no reason.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
On every model? Or some models? I've tried dozens of different models from both folders, they all end up the same. I'm pretty sure it's just me though, everyone else I've talked to seems to be able to do it just fine. Strange. Oh well, I already got someone that I can send bins to and they can conv...

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Say, will you continue working on this? I know that you're doing this out of good will and on your own time, but I really want to get as much done as possible. Who knows when another person with programming experience will take notice of this game? EDIT: And by the way, I've tried running the progra...

Re: [release] SleepingDogs mesh extractor
Speaking of which, for most models the mesh is in a ModelName.perm.bin and the textures are in a ModelName_TS0.temp.bin However, a large chunk of the characters have generic names in this format: A/T = [Model]/Texture M/F = Male/Female (S = Special) B/H = Body/Head IE: TF_B_001.temp.bin = Texture_Fe...

Well that's a disappointment. Oh well, we do have the program that Shako showed us, that will have to do.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Say, did Ekey ever release this?
The folks at FP are trying to get textures, and that would be very useful for those of us that aren't programmers.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
I didn't change anything, I just loaded the very first .perm.bin from Characters_New and it gave me this.
It must be my computer again, other people are saying it works fine.

Re: [Request] Sleeping Dogs Model Files
Well, I hope you can get that sorted out. The wheels are missing because they're stored in a different .perm.bin file.
And by the way, your program seems to be creating .obj files all right, but they're completely empty. Or am I just doing something wrong?
