BTW, do you have all XBG files extracted? Because I can write a small program that will scan all XBG files and dump some statistics to a text file. You can use that to pick out XBG files with interesting features.

I'm 3D modelling noob so I can say something stupid :-) but maybe minimap doesn't use textures, just "simple colors"?
I don't have an access to the game yet, so i don't know how the minimap looks like :(

there are no such strings in filelist.txt yet :(
searching all files atm, it will take some time :-D

I don't want to modify the game, swap files, etc. I posted minimap files becouse that's what i need (its geometry converted to max/blender/etc is more then enough for me righ now :-)
"FULL COLOR" version would be much better ofc ;-)

I tried 3 different scripts to convert xbm (found inside W3 blob.bundle) -> dds but none of them work for me :(
Could you share your script/solution/more details shakotay2?

just loading a DXT1 without a header (it was an xbm texture file). One more noob question :-) - so I have to strip xbm header and add dds one? Extracting main game archives is the first step but what about rev eng data/files inside? Was any of you able to find structure of any, non simple, files inside? There are maps (gfx & names), localized text (en/fr/de) containing quests data (titles, descriptions, objectives), lore books texts, npc n...
