I thought of something like this: replacing the string with hex editor, then running some kind of external script which would increase (or decrease) the pointer values at required offsets. It would be necessary to repeat this for every longer string, but still easier than reversing the kapR and wri...

BAK is just a copy of your original PAK file.

All files should be extracted to separate folders inside game directory
after using pak unpacker.

These bin files looks custom, so probably there are no tools for them.

What do you mean by hard and complicated? Using quickbms is very easy. To extract archive, you just need to double click on quickbms.exe , choose your bms script, then choose archive and output path and that's it. For reimporting steps are similar, but you just need to run reimport.bat script. Here ...

Is there a faster way to update the pointer values after inserting a longer string?
Yeah, you could write text importer which automates this task and it changes pointers during program execution.

Yes, I have tried it and I was able to rebuild BIG archive,
but I didn't test it in game.

Rebuild was completed and archive size is the same as the original, but there are some changes in the offsets on the beginning of the archive. So maybe it is just some bug in the tool. If that's the case, you should report it to the author of this version in this topic https://www.zenhax.com/viewtop...

Yes, exactly.
The obvious limits for editing the decompressed file are file size and total number of strings. Are these the only limits?

If your BIG file is in some other directory you have to specify full path for this file.
Also all paths with spaces should be conatined inside double quotes like
