Re: Treasure Island game (2005) - DAT archives
So I've checked DAT archives from "DATA" folder in "Treasure Island" game. screenshot000309.png It seems like it is a custom archive format with encrypted index. The data itself is not encrypted, that's why you can rip for example some WAV files from "Sound.dat" using D...

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - SRST files
I'm not an expert on Koei Tecmo formats, but I think that if encryption method is known and Cethleann source code is public, it should be possible to rewrite it's code as quickbms script (at least small part of it) and then use the same script for reimport. But first, someone needs to write such scr...

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - SRST files
Quickbms has reimport mode (I've already mentioned it earlier).
You can import files back with the same script that was used for export.

Re: How to replace a dds texture manually?
GIMP has native support for DDS files. Use it to edit your textures.

My research on DXA archives --> http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/DX_Archive
There are some newer tools for this format listed on the wiki.

Re: Ascendancy documentation
But the whole wiki looks very defunct at that point, and I'm not sure how to contribute. Would the registration page work? No idea. Wiki is functional (well, everything except CSS themes works :D ) Public registration is closed (due to spam bots attacks from the past). You can PM me and I will regi...

Re: NAMCO ALL-STARS - PAC-MAN .pak files
So I was able to do some research on Namco All-Stars Dig Dug , which has very similar encryption to this Pac-Man game. File format looks like this http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/Namco_All-Stars_PAK This archive type uses some kind of subtract encryption. Here is my Python tool for data extraction:...

Re: NAMCO ALL-STARS - PAC-MAN .pak files
Hm, I've checked your samples and index seems to be encrypted in all files except "launcher_pm.pak":
I think I would be able to figure out encryption method and file format, but I need some time.

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - SRST files
You can use quickbms (+ reimport mode)btw, should i use openssl or quickbms to execute Blowfish ECB encryption?
More info here http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/quickbms.txt
This should be something like this in the script:
Code: Select all
encryption bf_ecb "\x77\x45\xD6\xE5\x64\x13\xED"- Wed Dec 28, 2022 4:37 pm

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - SRST files
Ok, thanks for explanation. Can you send a link to this archived github repositroy?
I can't find it anywhere.
EDIT: Btw, according to the logic described by you in the first post, key length is 7 and key is "77 45 D6 E5 64 13 ED" (as hex).

Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin - SRST files
You can upload it to some hosting site like mega.nz, google drive etc. and then share a public link here.i couldn't attach a sample because that SRST file is over 500MBs..
That's NOT how reverse engineering worksi just need to know what is the encryption key based on my screenshot above.
