Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Yeah, I gave him a special version of my maxscript :p Can you send me a version of it? I'd like to do some more serious model modding. Like sticking Gordon Freeman in there. (if possible dunno how texture location and whatnot are stored though.) That wouldn't really be possible at this point it's a...

the .1 files are different from the .2> files though. I was talking about the .1 files and I thought I made that clear by saying
this is how the .1 files work.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

This is what meant when I said I was bad at explaining things :p I don't think I explained the .1 ftex well enough

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

If you really want to know about the FTEXS Dee, this is how the .1 files work. From the offsets in the FTEX file its basically { uint 16 compressedSize uint 16 uncompressedSize uint 16 unknown //always seems to be 0x08 uint 16 compressFlag // if its 0x80 its already uncompressed, if it's 0x0 its com...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Ok I've fixed the problem and made a new build of Ftex Unpacker, thanks for bringing it to my attention Stiffy. You can get the new build below;

FTex Unpacker

Edit: Hi Dee, it's just that it's a short int and not a char :p I made the same mistake hence the problem, it actually has 0x100 chunks

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Are you going to read in the normals or let max recalculate them and cause something like this If you are not, ill continue my work on the format. You don't have to stop on my account I was just doing it because I was bored, I probably won't release mine anyway plus I don't know much about bone imp...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Thanks, the only reason I didn't write up anything and just made the tools was because I just didn't think many people would care for the information plus the writing up takes a lot of time (that and I'm not really good at explaining things) from what I remember when working with the format, the par...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Repacking is fairly straightforward, the only thing I can see being a problem is the filenames/directory paths but if the game isn't actually using the ones written in the fpk for anything then it wouldn't be a problem, I'd have to test it.

It will do that if the file doesn't have the right magic so there's probably something wrong with the file, did you decrypt it?

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

I updated the FPK Unpacker as there were problems with some files, new version is at the same link. FPK Unpacker you should prob include zlib1.dll, crashes for me doesn't extract anything. Ok I included zlib1.dll for the ftex extractor now Ftex Unpacker What program can view or convert fmdl? 3ds max...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

I made a tool to extract the FPK files, I'm not completely happy with it as some of the filenames have illegal characters so I can't output those filename's, so to work around that I just made it put some hex digits out for the filename. Model format is fmdl and is super super simple, you can downlo...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain g0s archiv

Download the latest build from my other post, I removed the need to press enter at the end of the file unless it throws an error.
