Autocreated faces as I dunno where to get the face indices from:
(this lowpoly model is too ugly imho as to care for uvs)

Re: Space Channel 5 Part 2 (PC) MTP Animation file: Help nee
use the sequence E0033D00 to give the walk_x.mtp file a structure. There's 112 finds, maybe 112 frames, each frame with data for 61 bones (just a wild guess). Question is how to make sense out of the data (offset 0xC8; bone 0, bone 1): 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 80 1C 53 2E 41 13 F3 2C BB 01 00 02 00 27 4...

In my experience nobody cares for such animation requests.
You don't even tell us the number of bones.
Uploading a suiting skeleton will increase chances that somebody will look at.

Re: Extracting simple models
First of all: start with 200 vertices that obviously form a part of a mesh. 2ndly: look at the face indices - you need to understand that those are very unlikely to build faces f 5 1 10461 f 1 166 1 Without having an understanding how 3D meshes are built you will fail. Start any 3D app, blender for ...

Re: Skeleton parsing help
I'm having trouble reading this skeleton file. It's not like the files I've seen before in recent titles but often in older ps2 titles. Help would be appreciated. I know you're a skeleton expert and I can't offer a solution but I'd like to pick up this opportunity to build some kind of "getting a s...

Re: Extracting simple models
I have found several blocks of letters, I think these are part of the face indices, but I'm not 100%. They start at 00007522. as word indices it gives this: 80 69 100 87 1 1802 11265 225 604 So it's very unlikely that it's FIs. Divide the file up into sections with similar data, search for patterns...

mariokart64n is one of the best 3D experts, especially for scripts, I know.
So this should be a very good start (didn't check the videos , though).

Re: 3D model format used by BabylonJS?
I don't see where the problem should be - File/SaveAs mesh results in an obj file (controller.64_Front_Case.64_Front_Case_0.obj) which can be imported into blender for example:GordenF wrote:and with hex2obj's mesh exporter constantly failing on me,

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 .DAT
Lol Shakotay, didn't mean to offend. I didn't feel so, and I know hex2obj has some weakness, but I'm up to clear things where it has not. is there a way to automate hex2obj so that, for example, if we know there are x number of submeshes we can write up a script to enter the appropriate setting and...

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 .DAT
As for UV pos, HexToOBJ tutorial recommends either 12 or 24 when using floats, and if you use 12 you end up with negative values, If I hate something then it's uncorrect or incomplete "quotes". :D (always use the last version of hex2obj !) From the actual tutorial it reads: For simple floating poin...

Re: [Help] Hex2obj
But for getting the start addresses of normals we need 0x2B2E - 0x156 = 0x15C2. How obtained 0x2B2E instead 0x2B39? 0x2B2E that's 0x2B39 - 0xB? You not explain it in tutorial. I didn't feel the necessity to explain that because it's plain to see when looking at hw_bu_000.bm in a hex editor. It's ju...

Re: Extracting simple models
why do I feel you don't answer my questions? To be honest I don't believe that you really tried to get a skeleton seriously. Did you ever create a maxscript for a simple skeleton? Guess, you did not. Anyways, here's the bones and positions/rotations (assumed, it's not clear from that weird o3d files...

Re: Extracting simple models
there is no simple universal script for o3d skeletons, I fear. Did you ever create/understand a maxscript for a simple skeleton? If 'no', look here: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7337&p=91181&hilit=+certainly#p91181 ( TaylorMouse shows how to load Adria from Diablo III with skeleton a...

Re: need cabal 2 importer(.chr+.caf)
@godskin: would you mind stop spamming/double posting?
I won't write a script for cabal2, never.
There's a professional free CryImporter from Takaro but it requires '.cgf' <and> 'caf'.
(So I couldn't check whether it works with your uploaded cafs.)
