Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Would anyone mind doing a recap of the current tools/process for extraction and getting the models into blender/max? Working backwards through 79 pages of discussion to find the proper tools is rather daunting (and I've tried twice now). Not looking for any hand-holding just the outline. Like, is h...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Thanks, Ros Good to know about the Normal since I wasn't sure which one it was. Whatever that one between the UV & bone id is, it's still consistent across models for the most part since I was originally using that to find common values. Even with replacing bone weights though I still get some v...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

That may only work if the digital version has it in the core files, otherwise I don't see core game files being included. :( *** Ros or LSC, can't remember if I missed the response on this last time or didn't get one. Do we know what all 11 groups are in a single vertex buffer? (X,Y,Z, ??, Bone Weig...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Lot's of awesome news for Last Round today, and some not so awesome. Looks like quite a bit of content is withheld for next gen, so not sure how long it'll take before those kind of mods happen. At least current gen will still get costumes & characters through an update, but that'll likely mean ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

LSC, beat me to it, If any title update past 1.03 is active than the process he mentioned needs to occur.

***

I tested snapping Alpha against Christie, and that worked too, just need to see if a mid & large mesh works.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Ros, The process is very similar to the DLC. In the chara_common.lnk, do the same stuff as you would for any content.lnk. Not sure what you mean about getting a .exe. Even with using xextool, I've only had to encrypt / decrypt. Sounds like you at least have it decrypted though. Within the default.xe...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Well, the only way I know of as of yet is blender 2.49b to XNA but im not certain I can go from .67 to .49 and not lose any important data What's your end objective? If you're looking to just work with the mesh & skeleton in a newer version of blender, you can import into 2.49b and then open th...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Nice stuff, Ros, the application for the face organizing is still above me, I have to fight a reason to start learning all of that. XD @MisterNatal. Unless I overlooked a past script, I didn't know there was a direct import. The alternate method is to import into 3dsmax, export to mesh.ascii and the...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Awesome stuff, guys!

Thanks for the file updates & UV calculator, Ros!

Edit:
So far looks like Kasumi, Ayane, Hitomi, Leifang, Pai, Mila all have options, but nothing 100%.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

If anyone is working on the archivarius update for the latest content, it seems that half of the stuff already renames, primarily males & VF characters. Here's what I had a few minutes to find *** I'll do more later unless someone beats me to it. So far Kasumi & Tina are the only semi-full u...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

I'm liking the new stuff too. It'll be interesting to see what is 'available'.

I'd like to think full mesh, but I suspect minimal verts may still be missing like w/ Lisa's tropical. Rachels may have potential since I can't tell if the skeleton is a seconday mesh or texture.

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

@Ros That line a couple rows above the important vtx/idx details is a transparency flag. I've only had cause to change it when trying to change the alpha of a texture, but changing it is only part of the process. There are some values that also require changing in the MdlInfo / ObjInfo as well. My t...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

@tcl, nice edit, Did you add just the missing faces? Yes, I did see some discrepancies in some of the arch calculations. I mostly just grab the key if I need it. I've still been doing my offsets and injection manually. @lsc, Yeah, I definitely see where some complexity comes into play. I guess I'll ...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

@b0ny, awesome!! Thanks, that did the trick. Now I can attempt to rebuild one of the costumes with a standard res texture in another slot to see if the slot itself is broken. @lsc, Daaaaang. Nice, I have a few questions on how your doing that because I'm apparently slow regarding last time you poste...

Re: Dead or Alive series formats and tools

Dang, this is a good week.

With Sigma 2 models on the horizon, I can punt on the lower poly/res versions from Orochi 3. Plus the MR model will save me from having to still redo an original version which I've been dragging my feet on for months.
