Don't know about Away 3D but I imported Adria model to Maya without any problems. 3DS Max 2012 cannot open the ardia.obj. I run the .exe file and I get this:

so where to drag and drop the .tex? :)

GLC player also opened Adria.obj properly...

Beside that how can I convert the .tex files with the D3TexConv.exe?
The wiki page writes drag and drop, but how?

Hmm now it's working, that I've put an Appearance folder into the extracted folder, and copied all the files there

What I will try to make in the next days is a simple item loader program, which runs in flash, and can be easily inserted to a site.

To make a complex model viewer, that loads a character, and puts all the armors and weapons on them ... hmm that's a different story.

So it's sure, that we will have all the models in .obj + .tex files.

I'm just asking, cause Away 3D supports almost all major model formats (3ds, dae, obj, etc...), but Alternativa3D supports only .dae (collada) files.

The exporter just can translate from .app file to .obj model. Cool. Is the texture contained in the .obj file as well, or is it in a separate .mat file, or in any other? The exporter now is just a 010 editor template, not a tool yet. We use 010 to compile .app to obj file. You can start develop it ...

Currently BoyC and MrRawr made a 010 editor template which use for extract obj model from .app files. Ye it's nice. So the item models + textures can be extracted already. Am I right? The hard task will be to write an app as a wow model viewer, which is able to put the correct size of the armors / ...

I've downloaded the D3Appconverter of TaylorMouse, and downloaded the client of the Beta.

How can I get models with textures (which I can load to a 3d Framework like Away3D or Alternativa3D)?
