Thanks DKDave that got me pretty far. I'm using maxscript and Hex Workshop and I've been able to import other model formats from other games but this format confounds me. Thanks for the reply. Now I'm at block 1793's offset (0x3c80) and It kind of looks like it's put together in shorts, but verts would be floats for position in 3d space right? You meant vertices by indices right?

I have a few of halo 2 beta maps but none of the standard .map extractors will read this. I tried to change the header of the file to match halo 2's but it still failed to load.
