Been awhile since I looked at microsoft's 3D stuff. Presumably they have their own program that allows you to export in their format >.>

Re: LZSS Compression?
Quickbms has a couple lz77 variants if you're not interested in figuring out how lz77 works (eg: doing it yourself) and just throwing a bunch of different algorithms at it.

Most of the existing articles are stubs, and do not seem to be as technical as they should.

Re: How do you get MultiEx Commander?
Or, of course, if you are a reverse engineer and tried to crack that thing you might get around it. But then you probably don't need multiex commander in the first place if you can already do that. The money goes to the efforts of the author that provides the tool and all of the other stuff that com...

Re: Some touhou game
Alright got it working in noesis. Just had to call imageDecodeRawPal and pass in the map and the palette. Though, some of the colors seem to be off. Oh imageDecodeRawPal there we go.
Now I just have to figure out why it's not showing anything LOL
EDIT: alpha was 0 for all the colors and I specified that alpha was used...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Looked through the readme on palettes but there doesn't seem to be anything about passing a bytearray representing a color palette and then applying that to a color map to generate an rgba32 image. http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9214 Anything I can do in noesis to avoid manually pr...

Re: Some touhou game
Ya I think there was something about creating a palette of some size and then passing in the color map down and out pops an rgba image.

Effects of normal maps?
Can someone show me the difference between a model that has a normal map applied and a model that doesn't?
lol I don't know if noesis is actually doing anything with the normal texture map I'm telling it to set since I don't see any visual difference in the result.

Re: Some touhou game
It's probably just for that particular file. Other files have less colors in the palette.
EDIT: ya, at offset 32 that integer tells you how many colors there are.
Guess it's time to go figure out how to work with palettes in noesis.

Some touhou game
Got a request for graphic reversal for some touhou game. It doesn't seem to be compressed, so I went through texture finder. And got something that I at least recognize from the franchise. http://i.imgur.com/QDYnh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OLjDg.jpg The file seems to be split into three parts. First, y...

Didn't bother with the bone name
Outline is pretty much the same, except there's 24 bytes in the mesh struct after the vert and index counts.

Code: Select all
Struct Mesh {
66 bytes
int32 numVerts
int32 numIdx
24 bytes
numVerts Vertex
