Re: [request] need maxscript or/and noesis plug for .rip for
8 texture names are defined for each file. Usually there are only 5 or 6. The first one is usually the same number as the mesh, but not always. I've updated the script that assumes the first texture name is the material, but noesis keeps crashing on me when I try to view some files for some reason. ...

Re: [request] need maxscript or/and noesis plug for .rip for
uv's are there you should be able to just create and assign materials if it's really just one texture per mesh.

Updated. Should be fine now.
The mesh name is the same as the filename.

Re: [request] need maxscript or/and noesis plug for .rip for
Don't know how to figure out how to texture it it's just one big mesh (which is reasonable I guess) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7stlpd4qvkq3096/vlT0RyD6Bp/fmt_dxripper_rip.py Script supports two loading modes configurable at the top 0: load selected model (default) 1: load all models in folder http:/...

Looks simple enough. Have rip files to work with?

Just get the game; then all the models are yours.

Re: Another crack at .DET mostly understood
You might be able to replace the vertex data and face data with custom values without touching the rest of the model.
Don't know, might work.
It may also shed some light to how to determine which set of vertices goes with which set of indices.

Re: Another crack at .DET mostly understood
I think they may have developed the models using .x tools or something, but then they probably exported it to their custom DET format which holds more information than what the direct3d specs provide. And they may be parsing it and converting it internally to .x for whatever renderer they use. For e...

Re: Ripping 3D Models from Xbox 360 games
Do you mean, how to backup an ISO or how to extract data from 360?
Don't think there are any nice tools that would allow you to extract arbitrary 360 games.

Re: Game Modding Studio
Sounds interesting. I've never liked having to write completely new tool sets for every new game, but I guess sometimes it's not possible to have a single tool handle everything.
How extensible is it?

Re: rise of flight mgm format
The mesh is a really simple format. Vertex buffer and index buffer at the bottom, materials at the top.
It looks like it was serialized in some format but it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

I wonder if someone's written any importers for games from the series.
