I found fatduck's post about the file format and it looked pretty simple so I decided to write a converter. Or at least try. Going through chrrox's tutorial on reading the format outline and looking at some blender scripts from Szkaradek123 gave me an idea how to write it. But going through the file...

Looks like it XOR's each byte with its offset, looping 00 to FF and repeat.
First 4 bytes is the idstring.

Don't know how to write the script to deal with that kind of encryption though lol (haven't come across any examples for reference)

Might have to do something after XOR'ing everything though..

Oh well.

I'm looking at the hed files and trying to figure out the key, but am not sure how to go about doing it.

The previous scripts say rot encryption is used, but I'm not sure where to start even with that lol

Maybe alphonse just happens to be a hunk of steel so it doesn't matter how the textures come out.
Did you try flipping UV's in both directions? (horizontally, vertically)

The models would most likely be stored in one of the data files rather than being available out in the open for you to grab. It'd probably be possible if you provided some data files.
