Re: Yu Gi Oh Online 3 mdl files
Format uses a single byte to identify the data that follows. It starts with a 4-byte identifier and you can see the YO3 clearly. Then there are 4 more bytes which might mean something, and then you start reading a byte and parsing the data accordingly. 0x00, don't know 0x01 is followed by a short 0x...

Re: Decompress .x files
4 topics came up, but none of them seem to talk about how the compression works.

Re: KHBBSFM models
I don't remember what tools I used when I was looking at them, but I got them from that thread (or at least the names anyways) and was dumping files out of BBS#.dat as several members have mentioned.
Have you looked through the entire thread?

Re: Game Asset Compression
Upload it to some common filehosting site like mediafire.
The new file you uploaded contains a bunch of DDS images (12 of them), among other things.
Maybe everything uses the ".geo" extension.

Re: Game Asset Compression
Post more GEO files, of varying sizes (small ones, medium ones, maybe a large one) and different "types" (if they are grouped in different folders, maybe the folder makes it obvious what kind of models are in there) I have looked at the documentation but I doubt it is the same thing. If yo...

Is there an example with per-face material, UV, and normal assignment?
Will this have to be done with immediate-mode drawing?

Re: Decompress .x files
OH. Hmm. That's pretty complicated.
I wonder if this applies to all bzip formats or whether this is proprietary as well, since the company provided their own converter. I'll have to look at more files from other games.
What's the compression?

Decompress .x files
I tried writing a bms script for this but am not getting it right. According to some docs, if the header says bzip then it's a "MSZip Compressed Binary File" The header is 16 bytes long, followed by a long that represents the decompressed size. I don't know what compression that is though....

Direct3D Binary .x importer for Noesis (WIP)
This is a general noesis plugin that should parse any (uncompressed) binary .x format that follows the specs here correctly. That includes custom templates. I don't know how to decompress the compressed formats (lzw or zip), but if someone knows and tells me I might be able to add that to it. Script...

Re: The Imposible .x format, max and blender experts.
Well now I am changing my approach to this format again.... As stated in the specs, there are two types of token: record-bearing tokens, and data token. Everything is also arranged in templates, where one template may contain another template. Parsing would be done in two steps. 1: parse the file in...
