I think one limitation on these forums, based on what I've seen over the past year, is that it's focused on resource extraction in general. R...

Re: Sanjie PAK
That method for unpacking the nested archives doesn't work in general. For this particular game, they store the size of the archive. For their other game, like http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?p=66559#p66559 They no longer store the size of the archive but you will still need to unpack it. They...

The model format is quite messy.
Upload more models. It's the mg2 files.

Re: Sanjie PAK Unpacker
Anyone want to amuse themselves with a recursion exercise? Each folder is just another archive. And naturally, all of the offsets referenced in that archive are relative to the start of its offset relative to its parent archive. Easiest way is to just toss the entire script into a function, and then...

Re: Cabal Online File Format
I re-wrote the ebm importer in noesis cause I already had a plugin script for Sanae3D. I opened ech and found that it's the same as the ebm format. Ok, so I just added ".ech" to the plugin and it loaded up the models as expected. And of course, I see that there are potentially dozens of ar...

Map rendering?
Some games store the entire map as a 3D model, but it probably isn't the most efficient way to do things. I've seen games where the maps are constructed purely from tree algorithms, but those aren't too visually appealing either lol What kind of techniques are used when rendering maps? Many times I ...

Re: Daz3D just went crazy.
Metaseq is great. Got me into 3D with its simplistic (and limited) format. It also makes it easy to create/edit models and has very simple learning curve. Now, does your documents include the animation plugin? http://metasequoia.wikia.com/wiki/Keynote Like the format itself, not how to use it. And I...

Re: Cabal Online File Format
I don't see much of a point in just getting one mesh.
Unless you mean he is going to add it to a different game.

Re: Help file .MSH WYD (With your Destiny)
Four things: 1: if it doesn't load, open the debug log and look at what the vertSize is. I think I captured most of them. 2: I didn't add multiple model loading. Well, that's not very useful until you get the materials loaded anyways. 3: Some of the faces are supposed to be drawn backwards. I don't ...

Re: Cabal Online File Format
Ok so an EBM file contains multiple meshes, presumably related (like all of a character's armor, etc).
ECH can probably just be parsed the same way.
I can look into it, but I've got several papers to write so maybe on sunday lol

Do the existing scripts support ECH? Or are they all EBM?

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
I've tried encoding it as UTF-8 but it just says that some bytes fall outside of the UTF-8 range. Hmm. Regarding "effects" that usually come in games, like the shiny glows that swirl around your shiny weapons and armor, is it possible to show those in noesis? I think they call it "par...
