Re: noesis Gamebryo nif importer
Nice, I wonder if it applies to the previous formats lol When I tried to load a Gamebryo 20.6.5.0 file in Noesis with Tsukihime's latest plugin, it gave me this error: Detected file type: Gamebryo 0x14060500 Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\BenDesktop\Downloads\noesis\plugins\p...

Re: Final Fantasy XI .DAT (PC)
I would imagine all dat files have the same structure. I looked at a couple that were dealing with things like UI, and they were stored in the same way. Some dat files even have only 4 bytes: 00 00 00 00 The textures are pretty much the same things. You just have to see what pixel format it uses to ...

Anything that's unknown (not assigned) is just stuff I randomly skipped over.

Re: Final Fantasy XI .DAT (PC)
It looks like even if I tried to skip the start, I don't know how many chunks there are. I would imagine I would have to determine what kind of data I'm going to read in, cause for sure the textures are all over the place. But anyways I got a copy of the game so I can start with some of the smaller ...

Re: HELP - Infinite Undiscovery ud1.bin/ud2.bin PACK/REPACK
No, I'm not interested in re-packing stuff.
But if you're not going to re-upload files until someone expresses interest, people might be passing by cause there are no samples that they can quickly take a glance at.

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
yeah ill add bones this weekend :) its hard to do auto textures because from the files i have extracted it seems random what the texture names are. some times the textures match what is listed in the archives other times they don't also sometimes it seems to be based on the file names. Maybe it use...

Re: noesis Gamebryo nif importer
I realize that while there are many formats, I haven't set up the file to be as flexible as it should for the future. So now it just hardcodes a bunch of versions that I looked at. Maybe in the future I will just create one large file and have other versions inherit from it and override some methods...

Re: noesis Gamebryo nif importer
NiMesh is annoying. ya... Here's how I parsed it def parse_NiMesh_part(self, count): for i in range(count): chunkNum = self.inFile.readUInt() self.inFile.readByte() count2 = self.inFile.readUInt() self.inFile.read("%dH" %(count2 - 1)) count3 = self.inFile.readUInt() for j in range(count3):...

Re: Legend of Edda
Here's what I've done so far: http://db.tt/eEpJ8G36 http://i.imgur.com/oMxhy.jpg Don't know how the faces work yet. lol after staring at it for awhile and trying to work out the structs, it turns out it's chunk-based. That's why you can have meshes all over the place. I'll just write up something ve...

Re: Final Fantasy XI .DAT (PC)
I don't think there are many tutorials. I made an attempt to get some sort of guide to get people started: http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/3D_Model_Guide But I don't know how to "teach" someone how to read a binary file. It's like...how do you teach someone to read a book? Teach them the ...
