What kind of methods are used to translate a game client's text stored in an exe file?
Like suppose it were some standard window with some standard buttons and drop-down menus and stuff all in a PE file.
Resource hacker is one way, but what other methods are available?

Re: Queen's Blade MMO
At the top of the script there's a variable called MODE that's set to 0 or 1.
If it's set to 1 then all model files in the same folder as the model you chose will be loaded.
The textures are located in an archive called "texture" somewhere else

Someone already wrote the model script when the archives were just unpacked? Lol

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Since it is meant for "gathering" purposes, how about storing like file handlers or something?
Or at least, storing a valid path to the images that were found. Then I can just grab whatever noesis successfully found and do stuff with it, rather than doing error-checks on my end.

Well it's possible if you figured out the xbox format sufficiently well...No way.
I mean if OP is really motivated and really wants to do it I'm sure he could pull it off.

Re: Edelweiss - Astebreed
Freesia uses the same archives. They used a different model format this time, but it's still a text file... In fact it almost looks like they just took the .x format, changed things around, used "polygon" structs to define each triangle and wasting a whole bunch of space while they're at i...

Re: Grandia 2
Hmm I wonder if the PS2 format is similar. I looked through the archives and see the NJCM strings, but it doesn't seem like it's compressed there. Maybe they could afford to leave it uncompressed in PS2? lol Here's one of the afs files. I'm guessing it's just texture data at the top followed by the ...

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
(it should be quick to implement, even though the implications of such functionality in Python are terrifying from a memory standpoint) Is there a way to make it so that although python makes the function call, the program actually passes the job off to someone else that can probably do it more eff...

Is this game actually 3D? Or did they just make it look 3D with all those shadows and camera positioning and stuff...? It stores it in afs archives which is recognizable by dragon unpacker (or maybe something else I don't remember) but there are no filenames, so... I've seen a couple threads from se...

Re: EXTRACTING MODELS FROM CONKER LIVE & RELOADED!
From the data alone you probably won't get good results.
Then again it's an XBOX game right?
I don't know if there are methods to try to reverse compression on console games.

Re: Señor Casaroja's Noesis
Not sure why you would want to export textures with a model that are already external and in a recognized format. Having to convert proprietary images separately is time-consuming for the user. We can write an arbitrary number of texture plugins and then say that most of them are recognized. But th...
